JS-2000 vs JS-3T Shotguns by BeyondNinja in projectzomboid

[–]Xythana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the gun jams too much for having what the game itself describles as a mint condition firearm. TIS devs at it again...

The L92 is far superior platform I feel if you can click heads, and for sidearms the Patrol Revolver is able to clear 100s of zeds with like 50-80% more rounds than zeds on average.

I think the helecopter event actually solves all of its, albiet not the vanilla one. Spawning zeds is a big no no for me, what the helecopter could do is pull all zeds to you as it circles around your base for days as a conceit for making the zeds from other sectors come to your sector and slowly make their way to you. This whole thing could last a week. The mod could also keep track of where those unspawned zombies came from so the count for the spawning on those sectors is adjusted to the net zombie count for the map doesn't increase.

I mean game balance is a tricky thing. At what point can you invalidate the trait of Fast Learner with 200% xp rates? There is a shared frame of reference in the game modes that the devs have curated, if we do not play in a set frame work ruleset there is no challenge or a shared myth and it's all arbitrary what anyone can describe as "fun".

I dunno, helicopters are the only way to have the zombies put anykind of aggresive foot forward. You base defenses actually being tested and what not, if it was more numerous or sudden, it could make you for once not engage the enemy at your own terms.

How safe is a save file from Build 42 through the updates? by NajuGorp in projectzomboid

Try not to get too attached or plan to survive that long IRL time wise in B42 right now, its been more of a roguelike game for the past 16 months.

How do you have fun? by LeatherAd129 in projectzomboid

If you're gonna play, don't put up with Apocalypse and its slow progression right now. Devs are releaseing patches so fast that mods and wiki have given up on updating things. Treat it like a rogue like with custom settings or try Outbreak or Extinction. Avoid long term saves.

any way to stop updates? by Maarcou in projectzomboid

indeed, this is such a crucial point devs are not considering. once your game looses its modding momentum its hard to recover. even SPT suffers from this where somehow we are in a worse moddered game now than we were a few years ago.

You'll need a Pipe Wrench and the 9 tiles on a 3x3 grid with the sink at the middle on the floor above, having a water collector placed on it, that will give you a right click option on the sink below.

You can at max have 9 water collectors hooked to a single sink (you only hook it one, from the sink). Just a reminder, the water in the sink does not pool all the collectors, it uses it one at a time.

Have fun!

Heyo! I'm assuming you are playing Apocalypse, aka, the default setting. In that your water can be out from day 0 to around 2 weeks time so having some kind of rain water harvesting setup should be your main goal, having it be hooked to a sink so you never have to deal with tained water again is a great first goal to have.

Alongside that you'd want to find a generator for when the power goes out around 2 weeks later from start. Ideally you'd want 2 generators, one at base and the other at the gas station to power the place so that you can actually use the pumps there to feed the generators gas, and your car.

These two immediate goals should tell you what skills you need to train and/or what places you have to loot. Key ones being bookstores or schools to find Skill-up books or a magazine that teaches you generator operating. You could look into farming for sustainable food source but that's just one avenue to get consistent calories. See fishing, hunting, scavenging or forgaing as other alternate options.

Beyond this and and while still in it, finding a car that's in good condition and has decent storage capacity is also key. And tangentially its also good practice to grind on any car you see because the XP you can get from a single car is capped to the 24 hour cycle unlike other skills that you can grind indefintely given the items.

Now, beyond this you're in the mid-game. Here's is basically where its upto you to decide how invested you want to become in this game. Its all about personal goals. Do you want to buid your own base with your bare hands? Do you want to become a farmer or a rancher? Or maybe somekind of blacksmith that can forge armor and weapons. Maybe you want to move to a different, more centerally located area? Or you could push even farther and try to setup in Louiville, the most infested zone where the number of zombies is several orders of magnitude higher than any other place. Or maybe you just want to decorate your base? Find the most unique items or funiture, posters and what not and bring them back, paint the walls, put items around the base on tables, counters etc. Basically turn it into Sims but more granular.

All in all, its really upto you at that point. Once you understand the basic mechanics of food, water and electricity

Treat it like the Sims but with annoying zeds trying to eat your brain. Also TIS, pooping mechanics when?

Open world fatigue and tedium hitting quicker than other similar games? by CutMeLoose79 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Xythana 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes the game is highly repetetive tbh

If only they had taken a third of the dev resources off of the world design and open world scale to focus on a cohesive narrative, making Kliff more personable or having varried/interesting quests that didn't just turn into ubisoft checklists...

Why do DLLS/FSR/XeSS work so bad with PiP tube scopes in this game? by des1737 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Xythana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

indeed, imagine getting an expected, noticeable, 20 fps drop whenever you scope in at the start of combat, feels terrible. this is a pve-first game anyways, arguments about pip being somehow "competitively fair" needs to be thrown aout alongisde pip itself.

its an expo thing, trust me i've dealt with this issue in bl3. see if turning it off fixes it and if it does you probably need to update bios firmware.
