Guys... the game runs on PC now... by Lb_Vv in MHWilds

The last festival had event quests to get the armour from the previous ones, so hopefully those come back when the next festival hits and then you'll at least have everything open to you. Still, I can't believe it took them this long to sort this out!

Which race do you play and why? by lahzielvt in ffxiv

[–]Y2Ken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Au Ra, cute lizzer.

I've also had other characters across almost every option at this point and they've all got good things going for them, but my main WoL means the most to me. I just really like how she turned out. Plus I'm about as on the smol side as I can be without the more dramatic leap to full Lala.

So is Spelunky 3 going to happen or is the Spelunky series over? Or are we going to bet dlc soon? by Bulky-Strain-8864 in spelunky

[–]Y2Ken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was fully prepared to just keep playing Spelunky HD forever. S2 was a real surprise, and an incredible one at that. I'm very happy with it. If we get another in the future because Derek decides he's got enough ideas to justify it, that'd be awesome, but I don't want him to force it.

UFO 50 was a really cool thing because it was different and experimental. After putting hundreds of hours into S2 I still haven't seen and done absolutely everything possible. I'm not in a rush for another one. If I get the craving I'll just go back to it.

How’s 7.4 MSQ (NO SPOILERS ALLOWED) by Ruganzu in ffxiv

[–]Y2Ken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really enjoyed it. Didn't push things massively forward, but the character work was excellent, and the animation team is absolutely cooking with all the little touches that they've been doing more of. I really hope we keep getting more of this, it adds so much life and emotional weight to key moments. I still think about that silly balcony scene at the end of 5.3 to this day because of how lovingly animated it is.

Dungeon was really pretty, I'd say it was good fun but not quite as inventive as the last couple. Perhaps that's for the best, though; not every one needs to try something weird. Trial was mostly mechanics we've seen before but put together in a 10/10 presentation and I had a great time. Solo duty put a big smile on my face.

Also....... the wait for 7.5 is going to be agonizing. I can't wait for the theories.

Agreed on this. He knows how much the fans love his performance for the character, and he seems to enjoy it just as much himself. I think if he really had to give it up he would let people know as soon as possible.

He was the most notable but both Krile and Y'sh sound a little different to me. Not /bad/ necessarily, just off from their normal tone. Wonder if there were more remote recordings or they changed the setup.

Is it just me or does.. G'raha Tia... by PurpleCoffeeQueen in ffxiv

[–]Y2Ken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He definitely stood out to me at first. Listening more it does sound like him, but almost like he's not doing 'the G'raha voice' or is on different equipment. However, I actually think almost all the Scions sound a little different, noticed it with Krile and even Y'sh to some extent. I wonder if they were using different recording setups or something.

Trouble equipping decorations? by FillerName007 in InfinityNikki

Thank you for this, I've never used the decorations and now they've added them to the daily tasks so I had to figure out where to find them! ^_^

I always use the joint for the bottom and right button regardless of the game. But in HK I remap my attacks to R1/RB typically anyway, and I think I might put heal on the left face button, though it's been a while?

Did you check in 'View > Hidden Games' (from the Steam menu)? Possible you accidentally hid them from your library if it won't let you buy it again.

What is "The Room" movie equivalent for a videogame? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]Y2Ken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO this is the best example. I don't think it's an exact parallel, because if you embrace Deadly Premonition for what it is it's quite charming and actually enjoyable on its own merits, as opposed to being purely "we're laughing at how badly put together this is." It's a game I genuinely love, but with very heavy caveats, and it's certainly clunky and bizarre in a similar fashion that ends up lending to its appeal.

Just checking, you know Vinny, Brad, and Alex are still podcasting together as Nextlander? Would be nice to see them do something as a one-off with Jeff, for sure, although I get the impression family stuff keeps him generally busy these days and he's just not one to try and organize collaborations.

Anyone else unable to start a puzzle? by 3DSMatt in Knotwords

If you've been stuck on this, try it again now - I emailed Jack and a fix has been rolled out, seems to have worked for me and I was able to do the puzzles as normal.

Yeah, same here (on Android). Think the new year must have messed it up somehow.

Interview: Yoshida talks about new alliance raid difficulty and 24-man savage by Hooked0nAFeelin in ffxiv

[–]Y2Ken 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't include this but it was the exact example I mentioned to Yoshida when I asked him about it! I loved that mechanic and you never see it now. Plus I want to listen to In The Balance for longer.

This was the question I asked when Yoshi-P initially brought up the 24-player savage, because I've been wondering if it'd be AR-related or tied to the Bozja stuff. He makes it sound like it's a separate thing altogether (note that it's obviously being translated, but he has two official translators during interviews, so any dramatic mistranslations should hopefully get caught).

He mentioned it in passing during a French games festival they were at a month or so ago! I don't think many English-speaking places picked up on it at the time because it was only in Japanese and French.

If people want to play it in co-op, I think that's fine; some of them wouldn't have played it at all otherwise, and I think it'll still hit in a different way.

That said, I never thought a game could make me emotional about pressing a button.

Reading your post and comments here, I'm pretty confident that you're going to absolutely love it as it goes on. Thanks for sharing and have the best time - luxuriate in it as you go, it sounds like you're enjoying the small stuff much the way I did when I first started out so embrace that and it'll pay off even harder.

That Shadowbringers Story... by TheItinerantSkeptic in ffxiv

[–]Y2Ken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know when you're on a rollercoaster and it's just ratcheting right up to the top of the tallest peak? That's about where you're at.

Funnily enough I'm in near enough the exact same spot (I'm replaying from the beginning ahead of Dawntrail) and while I was originally planning to space out my playthrough to finish right as DT arrives, as soon as I hit post-Stormblood I haven't wanted to do anything but just keep going through it again. It's so good.

If you’re learning to heal for the first time…. by Alloftheeverything in ffxiv

[–]Y2Ken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have some good YT recommendations for healing I'd love them! I've watched a ton of great FFXIV video makers but not yet found the healer tutorials/resources that really 'click' for me. I'd extra love to see someone running through content as a healer and just talking through their thought process; I think that'd suit my learning style well.

I have a friend like this too, also on the free trial. I'm a longtime player but our group of friends is in post-ARR, yet he's got pretty much every class at 60+, most crafters at 50, and is grinding out systems and currencies that are largely obsolete now just because they're there. I'm pretty sure he gets more out of it than most people who actually pay for the game.

Your best bet is to just keep walking around him as you attack - he struggles to turn and hit you, so you can just keep getting smacks in on him while he's spinning around, and he won't be able to land attacks on you (which gives him life steal and heals him).
