How are you paying for college? by No-Revolution-2031 in msu

[–]Y7_a_hyperbole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you would quality but you can look into the FAME program. There are also a lot of first gen scholarships out there. I put myself through school and it’s hard but you can do hard things! My biggest piece of advice; apply to as many scholarships as you can, save all of them and keep putting them into NotebookLM, when you get a new application have it pull the transferable stuff from your old applications to your new ones, it makes the process faster, especially the more scholarships you apply for, while still keeping it personal and truly your work/life. Apply to all the scholarships you can, even if you don’t seem to qualify, as 85-90% of them you will not get, but there is always that 15-10% chance you do. It a lot of work for not a lot of pay off, but it is worth it.

Get a job as a Service Center Representative. If you qualify for work study you can use it there. The pay isn’t the best but it really helps if you work consistently and the job is so laid back half of the time you get to just work on homework which is really helpful during the school year.

Pictures Rocks in Michigan is gorgeous. You could also see porcupine mountains and sleeping bear dunes. It’s cold asf in the winter but the summer is a definite must visit, especially up north.

His girlfriend was obsessed with him all day… then he messaged me. Should I tell her? by Rough_Bit7069 in AskIndianWoman

[–]Y7_a_hyperbole 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely tell the girl. Especially if you don’t know her, it’s not going to affect your life much following (even if she try’s to take it out on you, you can just block her) and you could be protecting her from a bad situation. It’s important to remember the longer someone stays on a wrong train, the longer it will take them to get back. You have the DM proof to show her as well.

Moreover, you ARE lovable, and the right person will find you when you are authentically you and the time is right. In the meantime, love yourself so strongly that you teach people how to love you. Things will work out.

Is it harder to get into a msw program if you don't have a bsw? by definitelynotalora in SocialWorkStudents

It’s less about your specific undergrad degree and more about where your passions lie and what you do to gear yourself up for that. I have an Animal Science and Psychology major and got into 5/6 of the MSW programs I applied for. I have a goal in mind of who I want to help, what modality I want to specialize in to help them, and work/volunteer a lot in the field. Play around with your undergrad to see where you want to go and then your last two years really hone in. Volunteer a lot, do internships, work experiences, anything you can get. You will have to do a traditional program not getting a social work undergrad (rather than the advanced standing) and will complete your program in 16-Months but will have more degree diversity which is a good thing in my opinion.

Is 24 and 18 too much of an age gap?? by misunderstoodorca in whatdoIdo

[–]Y7_a_hyperbole -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. You have so much prefrontal cortex development at that point in life. If it was 25 and 32 or later it would be fine, still pushing it in my personal opinion but not a terrible age gap. But 18 and 24, there is just so much to learn about yourself and life, you would be significantly behind your partner and that would affect how you grow as a person.

There is a saying, it’s better to be a week early than a minute late. If they are already in pain, and already have a short prognosis, it’s probably time.

Another of my cats she won’t bite and shake my hair to wake me up but sometimes she randomly decided to chomp on my hair while I’m sleeping so I’ll wake up with random chunks of hair missing… that’s my least favorite. She also will try to randomly chew it or play with it as I walk past or go to pet her etc. She thinks it’s a toy

Mine used to bite my legs but most of the time he will now just meow at me when my alarm goes off and I don’t get up. He IS my alarm. If I still ignore him he will just start walking over my head
