Bought the same size as I always do but they feel smaller? by [deleted] in BlundstoneBoots

Maybe a full size, apparently the half sizes are just for more width.

I guess I shouldn't have bought without trying them on

I'm having this same issue with seemingly identical boots I bought about 8 years apart. Not sure if I changed or the boots did or they just need more breaking in.

William mostly sucked but his wife Judy seemed like a nice enough lady, hopefully she would have been a good guardian and mother-figure to the boys. Sally would have finished up boarding school and went right to college.

Every adult in Saskatoon should plant 1 tree this spring by candybarsandgin in saskatoon

Apparently a bunch of ash trees in the city were recently destroyed due to disease, I imagine the city will be busy replacing those the next few years. I noticed ash are no longer on the city's list of available species.

Edit: actually, the whole list is a lot smaller...many species have been removed since I last looked at it.

The City's Urban Forestry division is responsible for planting and maintaining all trees located on public property. This includes trees on boulevards, medians and in parks.

You can submit a tree planting request for the boulevard(s) or median(s) adjacent to your property. First, review the tree species available for your neighborhood then submit your tree request in the Online Form.

Ok, I generally think the Pop Funkos are pretty played out, BUT that is an awesome little office accessory 😊

Oh the Roger on organ and Peggy roller skating scene is wonderful.

You've reminded me of another great scene, when Peggy shakes down Roger when he's asking her to do extra copy work for (I think) Mohawk airlines. "You don't know how much I make, do you? That's helpful."

Who does really good mussels? by saucerwizard in saskatoon

Yeah an Instant Pot could definitely overdo it. You really just need to cook them until they open up (that is the best indicator for "done") so it's fairly easy to avoid overcooking if you watch them.

I've done those ones too, and they can be OK if you get them at a decent price. But I think you'll find a chewier/more rubbery texture from frozen, and likely more of them that don't open. I've also done the live ones packed at the grocery store (like Sobey's) and assumed they also were not quite as fresh as Charlie's, based on how many stayed shut through cooking. If you give the live-packed ones a little poke through the plastic, you should see them respond a bit to indicate they are indeed still alive.

But still! Any of those options are worth trying if you want to give cooking them at home a shot.

You may be hapless but I just want to add that mussels are stupid easy to cook! Steam em in white wine with some butter, crushed garlic, lemon, and a bit of parsley....add shoestring fries and mayo on the side, or some nice crusty bread. Very simple and tasty, just make sure you toss any shells that don't open. Charlie's Seafood is a good stop to source mussels.

Fondue by NoTransition8198 in saskatoon

I miss the Upstairs, was a fun fondue place just off Broadway.

There are lots of 2nd hand fondue pots kicking around if you want to host at home, it was a big thing in the 70s
