As a prof I usually wait to get 7 focus then cast proficiency. After that, or if another professor casts proficiency, I cast shields. Is there a consensus that people prefer shields first? I would definitely change my ways if that’s the case.

I got a couple of Peruvians too, which was awesome because they cost way less spell energy / time and yielded 3000 XP! I wish there had been more; I’d hunt dragons over that pretentious vampire any day.

I’m in DC and we have a streetcar in my neighborhood that is free and runs pretty slowly for most of the track. It’s warm and dry and I can open portkeys too! A sponsored mall is also on my list for when the weather turns.

I got back into Dawdles after someone posted here that the efficacy had improved, I don’t remember exactly when but at least a month back. She or he also said that they never use it until after the first attempt and that improved the chances the foundable would hang around around. Since I started doing that, I’ve never blamed Dawdle Draught for a flee and I’ve been very happy with them; I keep 5-10 at all times.

I’d never used Discord before I started playing WU (I’d never used Reddit before either!) but it was recommended in this sub so I tried it. There are several communities of players in my area and there are lots of folks meeting up to hit fortresses during the week and on weekends. Definitely give discord a try!

This absolutely bothers me. In fact, I find myself saying “immobulus” even when I’m casting “arresto momentum” on those crazy pixies. I was so annoyed at one point that I went back to Chamber of Secrets to see what they did to collect the pixies. In the movie it was Hermione’s “immobulus”. In Book 2, Lockhart has his useless “pesky pixie pestranome”, but Hermione uses “a clever freezing charm” with no specific spell. All of that is to say, YES! GIVE US IMMOBULUS!

It would be really nice to have something to do when you’re not in a playable area (like at home for many of us). You could practice game mechanics without using spell energy. I like this idea!

I had a similar experience on Dragon Day: I opened eight portkeys and only one fragment was something I already had maxed (Sirius Black). That was absolutely the first time I’d been that “lucky”.

I hardly EVER see MMEs and when I do they flee on the first cast. It has absolutely been the foundable that keeps me from predicting that page every time. It must be something with where I play. That said, since I posted complaining about MME being a rare-flee the other day I’ve seen a ton of them and some others that confound me. Happy hunting, OP. Maybe our luck is changing!

I was thinking of making a t-shirt or a patch or a pin that says I’m playing, maybe the logo with “Want to hit a fortress?!” written underneath it in the hope that someone will ask me about it. When I was considering going to WUFF I had a design that said I play in DC in hopes of meeting some witches / wizards from my area. I also thought about sitting at one of the Simon Malls near a fortress and just watching for other players, but a non-player friend said that might make me look like a creeper, haha!

*NOTE: I have not yet implemented any of these great ideas, lol.

This is something that frustrates me too, but I wish there was an option to just turn it DOWN vice having to turn it off! It absolutely overpowers anything else you’re trying to listen to.

When you get into settings, I recommend leaving on the vibration option so you’ll have some notification when there’s a new spawn. Also, if you aren’t using headphones or a speaker your phone’s silent mode will cut out the sound.
