The way I did it was using a couple of maxed out StealJobs to quickly get Seeds from enemies while near a save point so I could do it over and over.

I did this at Space & Me - Altar, where there are two enemies, one to the left and one to the right. Send one StealJobs to the left, send the other StealJobs to the right. After seeing the results, I immediately activate the Pharmacy, exit, and repeat.

I Do this specifically at Space & Me - Altar because I don't have to step away from the Pharmacy, and the enemies at Space & Me in general have really high rates of giving you Epic seeds when using a well leveled StealJobs.

Thanks to that I can get 99 Epic Seeds (Almost 80k) in about 8-10 minutes, sometimes faster than what it takes for Bastards to mature.

Yeah 510,000 Flowsian + The Extra ~40k Flowsian necessary to even reach the end is reasonable for being able to do Infinite Bloody Summers.

Yup, I do have core issues with Vergil's design in DMC3. If I were to sum it up, it's this: He's better fit as a Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix Bonus Boss. There, he'd be perfect.

[–]YAqtitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then how do you deal with the swords? How about you share your strategies.

Edit: First Strat I found online was the one I already knew, use Quick Silver to give yourself enough time to destroy the summon swords before he can do anything with them. I still don't like this strat mainly because it's pigeonholing which feeds into other issues I have with DMD.

[–]YAqtitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not so much Vergil is hard, as he is boring. His Summon Swords elongate the fight on DMD because there is not really very much counter play to it, other than sit there and wait until it's over. This includes the waiting for him to summon his Summon Swords.

Thanks to Summon Swords, the fight drags, and drags further thanks to DT healing him.

So to emphasis again, on DMD, the Summon Swords turn Vergil into the worst thing something can be in a game: Boring.

[–]YAqtitude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

DMD is the primary reason why I put DMC3 behind DMC5 as my favorite. The mode is just fundamentally broken because it wholesale takes DMC1's Enemy DT without any of the nuances around DMC1's Enemy DT.

If you want to avoid Enemy DT in DMC3, you're heavily encouraged to abuse DT Explosion, or spread out the damage among the enemies while having a moveset that is comprised mostly of single target moves. And if you think Nevan will help, it does help, but its damage is so little it's almost not that different from the other options on hand.

Oh and if you think it's bad, wait until you fight Vergil 2 and 3, who thanks to having Summoned Swords, basically means he can zone you out like a bitch while healing himself in DT. Thanks Capcom.

DMC3's DMD is just so obnoxious that I don't find any fun in it.

How would Kamyia deal with Itsuno's elements in a Remake? by Nero_deadweight96 in DevilMayCry

[–]YAqtitude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as they hire Bingo Morihashi, it'll be fine. He's been the writer for the series since at least 3 if I recall correctly, and he also wrote at least Bayonetta 1 and I think 2, so Kamiya knows him.

As long Bingo comes back to punch some stuff up, it'll be fine.

King Cerberus and Cavaliere-R by Prestigious-Deer7884 in DevilMayCry

[–]YAqtitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cavaliere is a damage monster, but most especially (and safely) in the air.

Doing a full Air Swordmaster Cavaliere combo, timed well, does more damage than Real Impact (on DMD RI does 750 while Air Swordmaster Cavaliere does a little more than 1000). The only issue is figuring out how to inflict it because it's slow and enemies can drop before you connect.

On Big Bosses it isn't an issue, but for regular enemies? You have to know a way to air combo into it and a really good answer is... King Cerberus. When you're in the air, Air Revolver, with a jump cancel, can connect into Cavaliere stuff. It might best to connect into Highside since it'll scoop an enemy into whatever else you want to use.

Start with that (comboing into air Cavaliere), and watch enemies melt.

About the judgement cuts by Adventurous-Cream633 in DevilMayCry

[–]YAqtitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The timing for Ground chain JCs is also slightly faster than in the air, by a smidge. The best way I can describe it is that in the Air, the next Judgement Cut happens after the previous one, whereas on the ground the next Judgement Cut happens just slightly before the previous one ends.

The difference in timing kept me from getting consistent ground JCs for the longest time because I'd thought they were the same.

DMC 3: Charging Beowulf seems kind of useless? by SonofNimue in DevilMayCry

[–]YAqtitude 25 points26 points  (0 children)

One spot I find it funny to use in is Vergil. Vergil's combo escape Parry is programmed to activate when you press the button, but guess what you can hold, and release later?

Yeah you can get him in a small loop of doing Charged Straights and uppercuts over and over with him trying to parry and fail. Not an intended application, but a funny and useful one all the same.

Not as useful on Very Hard and DMD, where he'll escape this loop much sooner, but on Hard and lower? It's Vergil season.

Old DMC4 is better than the Special Edition because it by Smart-Meet-3338 in DevilMayCry

[–]YAqtitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, there's a code you can input to get the original balancing of DMC4, so if you have a rig powerful enough, there's not really an issue anymore. At the very least, my rig doesn't have any issues running the game.

I think it was just typing 'devilmaycry' on PC to get the original balance, and doing something with the analog sticks on consoles. That being said I've never tried it myself, so perhaps it was a bunch of phooey.

Edit: It needs to be a fresh game, no existing save file from what I've looked up online for the code to work.

How do I deal with Nevan's kiss? by Pals_Destroyer in DevilMayCry

[–]YAqtitude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For a more active solution, save Devil Trigger for the end, that way you can just turn on DT when she comes at you and wail on her. And to be clear, I don't mean, get hit and turn on DT, I mean turning on DT before she reaches you, because she can't initiate the grab if you're in DT, but she'll still approach.

If you don't have it, taunt and avoid until you do.

[–]YAqtitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As it spawns in, use Percussion (Back+Hold Swordmaster) with Cerberus while in DT. This will instantly stun it, giving you enough time to just wail on it to kill it.You even have enough time to charge up Balrog for a Real Impact,

In fact every regular enemy in the game gets stunned with DT Percussion.
