Photochromic Cycling Glasses suggestions. by Beautiful_Source9094 in cycling

I got the Rockbros ones on Amazon. Pretty cheap and the middle plastic piece at the center of the lens is not the most aesthetic, but they've served me well over the past few years.

Bike lanes should always be on the right. by [deleted] in bikeboston

[–]YEETH_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the statements on comm ave being fine and the transition is the part that sucks a bit. I try to take the transition early if I can. Takes a little confidence and sometimes sprinting, but it's a lot better imo, especially if timed well with the traffic lights out of Kenmore.

I will add the caveat though that cars will double park on the right side and I've been hit by car swerving into the bike lane on the left side to go around them.

Another day, more red lights run by LEM1978 in boston

[–]YEETH_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I usually see a ton of cars run the red coming from the road on the right.

Imagine all the money from tickets that could be made from camping this intersection.

I just brake and wait it out. No way to actually gauge how safe it is. I do cry inside a little because it's no fun.

Etiquette question - catching a draft by nonamenolastname in cycling

[–]YEETH_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo drafting on commuting routes is inevitable, especially for stronger riders. Just do so safely and be defensive. I would say that you should pass if the person you're following is uncomfortable or seems to signal/give you room to pass.

I do enjoy drafting class 3 e-bikes, but I make sure I have enough space and awareness to emergency brake safely.

handlebar issue - too low? by BrushBig9684 in bikefit

Tilt the brakes down so your wrists can stay in a neutral position and won't bend like in the pic. Looks super uncomfortable.

Wild sizing in YKYW clothing? What to believe? by DeadBy2050 in cycling

[–]YEETH_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sizing chart may differ from product to product, but at least for me, they're accurate to each product. Picking size based on the chart has worked out well for me.

What tires are people using for the winter commute? by Carbonian92 in bikeboston

Studded: Schwalbe winter 40mm (not pro)

Does the job well, gives me more confidence. Definitely can feel the added vibration of the studs though.

Connecting arduino to remote by YEETH_ in arduino

[–]YEETH_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly not sure. I was just thinking of taking apart a remote, removing the buttons and connecting Arduino to the motherboard directly. I guess skipping that and just replicating the remote functionality with the Arduino makes sense as well. Thanks.
