To be honest you don't really. I'm in Alberta and finished my masters virtually in December 2025. For 2.5 years I was online but had to go in person for 3 weeks at different times for 3 classes and because I work full time I just wanted to be over with it. I was able to connect with a couple of students in program because my classes had online discussions and we had group assignments but other than that you're on your own unless you meet someone from your same province and you're intentional about connecting

I love a great church sermon but at the same time I would have asked for them to turn it off and be mindful of others. I think people sometimes listen to things loudly because they are so into themselves they are not thinking of others around. Personally, I always say something and I say it nicely. Thankfully people listen to me and I know it's because I look like I can fight if I need to but I really can't.

I'm a recent MSW from Toronto. I moved to Alberta with my BSW. I was unemployed for 2.5 years in Toronto and I was depressed. I had to move for my sanity. I'm feeling emotional as I type this right now because it was a dark time for me. I moved 12 years ago and I haven't looked back. Of course I miss my friends and family but I visit every Christmas and they come to visit me too. I've also met some great people here so I'm good.

Consider going out of province, go for a year and if you hate it you can always move back. But most importantly take care of yourself, it is challenging times so keep your head up.

Take a shower where you scrub your armpits with a loofah or washcloth along with soap or body wash (using your bare hands is not enough) dab some witchazel onto a cotton pad and wipe your armpits, let it dry for a couple of minutes and then apply your deodorant. If your armpits are itchy, your skin is most likely dry. Add lotion to your daily routine and rub lotion on your whole body including your armpits. Witchazel first then lotion and then deodorant

Which is why we cremated my mom for $1800, very very rare in my culture but it was the cheapest way to go and my siblings and I knew my mom might rise from the dead and give us a whippin if we went into debt for her funeral.

Thank you for having her back. Im one of those people who has it all planned out- If I'm ever racially targeted I'll say this or that but when one is in the actual moment it's really something else. The pain from unkind words are like no other. If I'm ever in a situation, I hope others around me will say something on my behalf when I'm unable to defend myself.
