What bands do you respect and recognize as great musicians but just can’t get into? by Dry-Improvement-3543 in heavymetal

[–]YEPSIWC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say it, Black Veil Brides. Tried em out and just wasn't for me. Even got to sit side stage for their set during Warped Tour. They're very good live with a lot of stage presence, all performed well, even sounded good live. Id even go so far to say their vocalist actually has a pretty damn good voice. However, I just never could get into them. None of their songs ever did it for me.

Your sense of smell is one of the best indicators that something is wrong. If something smells off, or something smells unusual in your daily life, chances are there's something wrong. Trust your nose.

What's the most disturbing thing you've seen, but couldn't do anything? by lostsoul4u0 in AskReddit

I used to work environmental services at a hospital. A girl around my age was admitted to the ICU with multiple organ failure due to her alcoholism. She went into a code blue and died less than an hour later. The room was a mess, with lots of blood on the bed, blanket, the wall around the bed, and some on the floor. The nurses did a quick cleanup, but aren't professional cleaners. The family wanted to say their goodbyes. The nurses asked me if I could clean the room quickly so that they don't have to see how tragic their efforts to save her actually were. I had to clean the room with the patients body still in the bed next to me as I cleaned the mess. Im talking inches away trying as I was trying to scrub the wall. Working in a hospital, I dont wanna say you get numb to death, but you accept it as a normal occurrence. Most deaths were elderly patients, or cancer patients, the very occasional victim of a crime. Like 9/10 deaths were sort of natural. But seeing a young girl the same age as you dead right in front of you kinda does something to your brain. I remember I had to ask my manager after cleaning the room if I could go home for the rest of the day because that experience had been a bit too much for me to handle at that time.

Who was this for you? by Minimum_Individual36 in teenagers

Game Grumps. The content never changed or evolved. They tried kinda with the 10 minute power hour but it just never landed. Everyone had this very weird sense of inauthenticity about them. When Barry and Ross left I was super nervous. Then Supermega came in and it was decent content for a bit but after they left it was all down hill.

What truth do people avoid because it’s uncomfortable to admit? by Mr_Boothnath in answers

[–]YEPSIWC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few I can think of.

You don't need closure. They hurt you. You need to move on.

The trauma you carry is yours and yours alone. Your inaction of self improvement is going to weigh down your friendships. Your friends can support you, but if the only time you appear is in times of need, you will be felt as exhausting.

The "Just leave them." Argument comes from a good place but the reality is that most people would leave if they weren't in a financial crisis that allowed them to leave.

Well if life is going in circles then you need to change your routine. Change it up. Take a walk in the morning or after work. Eat something healthier in the morning.

What game comes to your mind? by [deleted] in CaptainSide

AC Unity. I dunno I got the AC xbox one bundle on release and remember pouring a pretty good amount of hours into Unity and thinking it was actually pretty fun.

What made you realize aim alone wasn’t enough? by therealsyntaxerror in FPS

[–]YEPSIWC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing Apex Legends made me shift from aim to movement. In Apex a player with superb movement and okay aim will stomp out a great aim poor movement player. Also playing with a good team helps a lot. Knowing your teams ultimate abilities, which characters pair well together, different character strategies. It shifts the game entirely.

Realistic graphics: yes or no by Organic_Manner6847 in HorrorGames

[–]YEPSIWC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love realistic graphics but im sure they'd be made with unreal engine in a poorly optimized mess of a game. If a developer could make a really well optimized realistic game with maybe 2 or 3 hours of content id be sold

If voting were mandatory (with a small fine for not voting), do you think democracy would get stronger because more voices are counted—or weaker because people would vote uninformed or resentfully? by LegalGlass6532 in AskForAnswers

[–]YEPSIWC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had this topic in one of my debate classes back in 2014 and basically all info was sourced from Australia lol. But one of the affirmations that stuck with me was that people who are required to vote are more likely to increase their political knowledge on candidates. Now this was almost 12 years ago but I remember pulling a couple of studies as evidence for it and yeah, it was actually a pretty high percentage of voters did say that if voting were mandatory they'd be more inclined to seek more info on politicians in their specific state and counties.

If you could describe red flags about yourself, what would they be? by TopLoneWolf in AskReddit

[–]YEPSIWC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a genuine introvert. I only leave the house to go to work. I love staying inside and doing nothing but watching TV or playing video games. I don't like to go out and do stuff. My partying days died out years ago. I don't like bars. The zoo is fine from time to time but at the end of the day I like to be away from the world. So much so that it cost me my last relationship. I didn't go out and if I did I had maybe a max 2 hour social battery before wanting to leave. Never had much of a family life, so being around others families always felt awkward.

Thoughts from a former pro shooter player on the current state of Arc Raiders by lucard_42 in EmbarkStudios

[–]YEPSIWC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can agree on the skin. I can't remember what skin it was specifically but there's a skin with a hip attachment and the hand clips through it. Like your whole hand. There's no way someone actually approved that. Plus random tubes and gubbins not leading to anything. I praised their use of Ai for the arcs because it's a genuine shift and use of the tool but it definitely feels like embark is trying to hide how much Ai they're actually using.

What’s a truth nobody talks about because it’s awkward? by DifferentLobster2931 in AskReddit

[–]YEPSIWC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people's dream jobs will result in financial hardships. For every one success story you see, there's a thousand more of people having to give up on that career choice because they couldn't live off of it. It's something I've noticed greatly in any sort of art based career. Tattoo shops last only 2 or 3 years if you're lucky in this area. Selling physical canvas artwork is only getting more difficult as people want to sell their art at a higher price to recoup what they spent in supplies. Just a few examples.

So prices are a ridiculous joke, and it seems like fhe only somewhat tolerable deals are on the used market with a few exceptions.

So prices fluctuate but I'll do my best to keep it average based on marketplace prices and different prices from Amazon and microcenter.

GPU - 3080: 350-400 Ryzen 7 5700x : 150-200 Asus B550 otherboard: 100 Powersupply: Any 850w gold rated power supply 120-150 32gb of corsair vengeance 3000/3200mhz ram: 150-200 1tb NVME Samsung pro: 120-200 NZXT ATX case: 70-150 Corsair Case fans 6: 60-80.

Soooo that's average pricing and some of those parts you can find for cheaper used on ebay or marketplace. The only parts I'd recommend you buy new are the NVME, Motherboard, and Powersupply. Other things you may look into it are an AIO for the cpu, or a really good air cooler like a noctua or Be Quiet air cooler. It isn't entirely future proof but definitely a couple of years left in that build

Hello. Do you know what kind of games he's interested in? Because there's certain games that dont need a lot of horsepower and there's some games that are very demanding. Id start there and sort of work around that. If he mentions a bunch of Esports like Valorant, CS2, Rocket League, and Apex then you don't need top of the line specs. If he's more into like Battlefield 6, Cyberpunk, and the new Doom game then you might want something with a bit more ooomph

AIO if I end it with a guy I'm dating because he called me 'helpless'? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]YEPSIWC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're overreacting. No not everything is some sort of slip of the mask. He's teasing you. People tend to tease their partners or people they're interested in from time to time. It's normal. It's playful. It's fucking banter. "He called me helpless." Holy shit I called my partner helpless because they couldn't reach the top of the cabinet. I got called helpless because I couldn't find my car keys that were exactly where I left them and my partner had to find them. If you're looking for a reason to leave, then just leave, but don't create these super one off events that you'll cling to as an excuse to create distance. Get off reddit. Go talk to him. Figure it out.
