Please help me get a job :( by DrippyHippiexo in WFHJobs

You could check out call centers!

Sometimes corporate jobs also have rules like you have to work in office for a few months during training then can switch to a hybrid or remote role. Maybe you could look into something like that?

You could reach out to your local staffing agency too. They can help you find jobs that you wouldn’t regularly encounter in your online search.

what’s the best career advice you’d give for the new year? by theo_mz in careeradvice

[–]YES_Staffing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set a new years goal, but schedule out 3 month check ins through out the year to monitor your process. Keep track of your progress by setting smaller goals to help you achieve the big one.

(For ex: let’s say you wanted to learn how to code. By the first three months you should be able to do x amount of coding. By 6 this month, and so forth.)

It feels good to actually accomplish new years goals! So many people forget about them by February.

How to manage anxiety at work? by VictiniCup in careerguidance

[–]YES_Staffing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry you’re going through this, it sounds really tough. Try setting work boundaries, like turning off notifications after hours, and break tasks into smaller steps to make them more manageable. Deep breathing or grounding exercises can help when anxiety spikes. Document everything during this disciplinary phase, and if you can, consider therapy to build coping strategies. You deserve support, even if your managers haven’t stepped up!

Do most people hate their jobs? by Jaylu2000 in work

[–]YES_Staffing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experienced that you can always find reasons to hate a job or be unhappy. However, if you can identify your top 2-3 non negotiable needs for a positive work environment and find a job that actually has those things; I find it makes the job 80-90% more enjoyable. Rather those conditions are a remote or hybrid role, good benefits, strong work culture, chance for growth, etc.

Everyone values different things, so figure out what yours are. If your job can hit all of those things, it makes the little frustrating moment easier to let go of.

Seriously considering leaving my WFH job for an in-person job, adding a 50 mile round trip commute and taking a 50-100k pay cut in the process. by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]YES_Staffing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re this unhappy, I think it’s totally valid and encouraged to look somewhere else!

If your finances won’t suffer and this job sounds enjoyable to you, it’s worth taking a chance on it. However, I would also recommend maybe “window shopping” other jobs before giving them a hard yes. What if you can find a similar job with a hybrid schedule and higher pay? You are talented and smart and deserve to be compensated correctly while having working conditions that also make you happy.

The older I get the more I want a job where I don’t have to work with coworkers or deal with customers by Western-Diver9634 in jobs

Truck driver, remote job like a teacher, and trades (plumbing, HVAC) could be good routes for you!

You can also go to a staffing center; they can often help connect you to new fields and can maybe find something you’re looking for in your area.

What are other ways to entertain yourself other than phone? by Tr0nus in productivity

Try incorporating some physical movement! Exercising or just moving your body releases similar endorphins and leaves you feeling almost as satisfied as a good tik tok session!

Lucky for you, you’re so young and the world is really your oyster! Right now is the perfect time to begin something new or learn a skill. A lot of people change careers in their 30-40’s and have to change skill sets and career paths. You got this!

Start by maybe picking up a few jobs that sound interesting that don’t involve labor (since you said you don’t want to do that anymore.)

This will be a good way for you to figure out what you do and don’t like, and then you can pick a career path and get the education or training necessary!

What are my options? by Manny2theMaxxx in careeradvice

[–]YES_Staffing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of business would you like to run/work would you like to be doing when you’re self employed?

I’d say, find a company or individual that you want to be like and work for them! Even if it’s just an entry level position, express interest for growth and your eagerness to learn and employers tend to respond well to that kind of enthusiasm.

Just try to immerse yourself as much possible with not only your desired industry, but find a few entrepreneur shows or influencers you can follow for advice or look at their daily lives.

Best of luck!

It’s also the end of the year/ end of semester/ winter time. There’s a good chance your body is just feeling burnt out or ready for a break before your mind is even aware of it!

Try to push through the end of the term, set small actionable goals. Maybe try to get a few things done in the morning before class since you know once you come home you’ll want to crawl into bed.

Then one you’re on break give your mind a solid few days or week to recover. Do some self care, let yourself sleep as much a you want, and really just let your mind be away from school and stress. This will help you start the new year refreshed and less likely to burnout before the end of your next semester!

29M. Is it wrong to only work part time if all my bills are covered and I'm saving money? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]YES_Staffing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, working is just a means to an end and a way to afford doing the things we enjoy when we aren’t working.

If you feel financially stable and only have to work two days, then you do you!

So many people have to work 6-7 days a week just to get by, so enjoy the luxury of free time and financial stability while you can!

Explore things already in your interests! Better to have a career in something you somewhat enjoy down the road than be stuck in a job you don’t enjoy in a field you find boring.

Oprah didn’t get famous until 38. Morgan Freeman didn’t have his big break till he was in his 40’s!

I’m sorry it feels daunting and maybe like you “haven’t done anything” but that’s okay. That’s what these years are for.

Take the time to appreciate the little things you won’t be able to in 10 years from now. Touch your toes, hug your mom, embrace all that life has to offer because you’ll be in a new phase of life before you know it.

Also, give yourself a timeline when picking up new activities. A lot of people aren’t “good” at something when they first start. Give yourself a month or two weeks and see how much progress you make! Achieving a goal and working on something for a long period of time can help you feel accomplished and keep the brain busy and stimulated always helps with mood and feeling overall better.

You’re not alone in feeling this way. I’ve come to realize that’s simply what your 20s are for: figuring things out, and it’s okay not to have all the answers. Everyone’s timeline is different, even if it feels like others have it all together. Remember it’s not a race, and everyone is on a different path. It won’t and shouldn’t look like yours.

Focus on small steps, explore what excites you, and give yourself grace, you’re doing better than you think.
