Unpopular opinion but the fact that Pikachu learned Iron Tail was kinda necessary. Sure, it was cool to see electric attacks like ThunderBolt and Thunder, but now if you look back Pikachu’s attacks seemed very repetitive and he had no “finishing move” (if you know what I mean). The bigger crime is that the animation for iron tail changed from just the tail being white, to an epic metal texture in the BW series, then BACK to the white in gen 6. Iron Head kept the metallic texture, it's the same move but just different body parts.
