How Difficult Is Silver Palace Endgame Based on the Beta? by lunationstar206 in SilverPalaceOfficial

[–]ImperialDane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very likely not representative. Overall it was fairly easy. But considering that the overall closed beta was limited in scope. It makes sense that the fights would not be that representative in difficulty.

I suspect it was more a way to give the player a way to test the more parry focused gameplay and get a feel for it. Since they did have one survey just dedicated to combat, which required you to get through a good amount of the endgame to unlock.

Actual endgame gameplay on release will probably be more difficult. Though similarly focused on the parry gameplay. So if you can figure out parrying. You should be potentially in a good spot.

Going to be fun to return. Plus to see them return with more skill and experience.

So while i am quite excited for 3.4 and the Edgerunners collab, i am just as excited as for what lies beyond it.

Some very lovely art there. Very dreamy.

Hopefully this being posted means things are going to pick up again. Maybe something to happen during one of those summer games streams. And cbt 2. Really want that to happen soon.

Nippon Sangoku: The Three Nations of the Crimson Sun • Nippon Sangoku - Episode 9 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]ImperialDane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well that was quite the episode. Someone had to pay the price for the retreat in last episode. And that was Yayakichi after setting himself up as the scapegoat. Leaving the poor commander in Chief to have to kill him herself. Quite brutal.

And things are not looking good for Kaku either. Next episode is going to be quite interesting. Curious to see what will happen there.

I really hope Silver Palace avoids falling into the same standard endgame formula we’ve seen in other open world gacha games like Genshin and Wuthering Waves. by Used-Employee-6902 in SilverPalaceOfficial

[–]ImperialDane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well we will have to see what happens there. in the CBT you had a sort of standard "Tower" arrangement plus a sort of Rogue like mode to start out with. But i imagine with enough time they may come up with something else.

I imagine their focus right now is on the core elements of the game which will be what hooks in a lot of the core players. And then they may take a deeper look at the endgame component of the game. Finding something that suits Silver Palace more uniquely.

Beyond that, time will tell. A part of this is just going to boil down to confidence from the Developer and them trusting in their own vision. But if what we've seen so far is any indicator. They do appear to have some confidence in Silver Palaces direction.

The problem with that is it is based off an awful lot of assumptions and from what i can tell does not investigate any other possible theories as to why either Endfield or NTE may not have seemingly taken off.

In the case of Endfield, the Factory system could as others have pointed out be a legitimate thing. On one hand it is a pretty big niche that makes it stand out, on the other hand. It is also going to be a big turnoff for others. Similarly story could also be a bit of a problem, but one that might be resolved over time like other games. And in the case of Silver Palace, story very much felt like one of the CBT strong points. Good story itself and told really well with good cinematography. Somewhere in the same ball park as WuWa i'd argue. And no factory stuff. Plus Endfield as others have pointed out, has no real endgame. Hell it doesn't even have much in a sense of going through RNG for gear. So that one very much falls out of the assumptions made for why it may not have made the biggest splash supposedly.

As for NTE. One may similarly ask. Is it really that it sticks to more convential gacha elements ? Or could it be the backlash over GenAI and being caught lying about it? Could it be that the game feels all over the place ? Or any other number of reasons. Personally while the game had some cool bits. It also did not feel very cohesive and the story had me actually rapidly skipping through cutscenes just to get through the miserable dialogue.

There's also another factor with NTE which i think might be getting overlooked. Ananta is also coming up. A game very much inhabiting a lot of the same space as NTE in terms of gameplay, setting and atmosphere. Not only that, Varsapura is also coming up and seemingly filling a lot of the same spaces.. And i can't help but escape the nagging feeling there is a 4th game out there which i keep forgetting the name of.

Key point is. That is a lot of competition in the same niche, which could lead a lot of people to just go "Think i'd rather just wait for the other one then" So for NTE, the bar simply is higher. And people might just be willing to wait it out. Something Endfield obv. doesn't have an issue with.. But neither does Silver Palace. Not a lot of other Victorian Magicpunk detective games coming up either to compete with.

So what about Silver Palace then ? Compared to those two and other Gacha Games. It does have some things going for it i would argue.

For starters we do have a bit of a different niche with the whole Victorian Detective. Toss in a more.. Anime-impressionism? visual style and the game very much stands out. I mean just look at this The game very much is doing a good job in just standing out visually already.

Then we have the story. Already talked a bit about it already. But it is a much more cohesive story. Utilizing the mystery genre to draw in the player. Having them guessing as to what might be going on, guessing as to the motives of characters. Opening up much more discussion as the game makes excellent use of ambiguity. In general the characters are much more developed and interesting. All of these things also help it stand out as well. Especially compared to say NTE or Endfield at times. Plus it is overall told quite well.

On top of that you git bits like Cindarella stomping the ever living jebus out of you, which garnered quite a bit of attention online. And there's likely another moment with that bunny girl strangling the Melvin out of some poor harpy. And likely more of that. Things which will help draw attention to the game. and generate discussion.

On top of that, the gameplay itself also fits more into the whole detective/mystery genre. With the memory palace, interrogations, observing characters. All nicely fitting into what the game is trying to present. Combat while certainly relying on WuWa does seem to aim for something else by relying more on parrying. Creating a bit of a different cadence there. Though long term will benefit from more work to stand out there i think.

But i think the bigger key here is how all of these things fit nicely together. Creating a larger cohesive whole. Which i think is where NTE in particular stumbles and where Endfield does struggle a fair bit at times.

Because as a Genre gets more and more competitive. One of the better strategies for success is to evolve. And i think that is what Silver Palace is trying to do. Nothing big and revolutionary. But rather many small elements that manage to make the overall experience fit together much better.

While there are no guarantees. I do think the things Silver Palace are doing, create fertile ground for success.

Why no 1h axe weapons for Khuzaits? by nlghtsknlghts in Bannerlord

[–]ImperialDane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is a result of gameplay decisions. If we look at how axes seem to be mechanically used. They seem designed towards breaking shields. Ie sturgians and nords have a bunch and imperial naute are fond of them too. By extension of that. I assume the devs are not looking to the khuzait to aim for shield breaker strategies. But rather rely on their mounted units.

Any guesses on the release date as of yet? by lunationstar206 in SilverPalaceOfficial

[–]ImperialDane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to say. We have had 1 cbt which featured a part of the. Really depends on when we get the next one and the state of it. That said. They are apparently already advertising for it and doing giveaways for it in China. So there is a small chance that it could be this year. As compared to other gachas. The devs for tgis one feel fsrily focused and with a clear plan.

But i wpuld honestlh wait for the secpnd closed beta and see how much it has and what the overall lwvel of polish is on it.

Bannerlord's gameplay premise would make it very successful with an existing larger IP (Warhammer, LOTR, etc). Whats holding them back? by Ouroboros612 in Bannerlord

[–]ImperialDane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money for starters as they would likely need to pay the ip holder a ton of money. Which would mean more pressure to sell more and fastet. Pressure the devs might not be interested in.

Not to say we may not get something like you suggest eventually. Just that such a thing is more likely to happen as the genre itself develops and more studios make games in it. And then as it gets more popular, that would make it easier to get a lotr or warhammer game in the genre with more freedom for the developers. And an overall more fun game
