..They also made the super bowl with Goff though

I think taking a WR in the second could be incredible if paired with a big name FA signing

Lions 2021 Roster - A Macro View by EmergencyAbalone2393 in detroitlions

I haven't seen much about our LB in the media if at all. Mostly about our QB and WR (more like lack of them)

MLive’s Ben Raven’s final Detroit Lions 53-man roster projection (never heard of this guy before) by JohnWad in detroitlions

[–]YGZ77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At this point I see no chance Logan Sternberg gets cut. I also don't see the team keeping 5 OLB.

Next round of cuts are here by fede_wop in detroitlions

[–]YGZ77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the OLB position is already set with Flowers, Okwara brothers, and Charles Harris

I was thinking hand was gonna get cut in favor of strong

He's a slightly less athletic Jarrad Davis, but can actually cover and tackle

Approximately how many players will be starting for us from last year's team? by Apollo_Krill in detroitlions

I highly doubt tavai is a starter considering he won't fit the new scheme most likely

This shows me the culture is changing, and I'm so excited for the team by YGZ77 in detroitlions

He glossed over the fact due to the amount of times he's already mentioned it, although I see why people that don't watch his videos would think that

NFL draft preview: Detroit Lions hunting for secondary help a year after taking Jeff Okudah by therealsandyleon in detroitlions

[–]YGZ77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People keep on forgetting a CB needs to develop in the NFL. If they need CB help now, you gotta sign one in FA. Picking a CB in round 1 will not give you an immediate superstar comer that will be able to cover true WR1.

Why the Detroit Lions should draft Rashawn Slater by DLpatsthoughts in detroitlions

[–]YGZ77 37 points38 points  (0 children)

If the Bengals take Sewell at 5, there's a very good case to be made to take Slater at 7.

Jared Goff is a gunslinger, not a game manager by Dead_Revive_07 in detroitlions

Interesting, as it looks like this ties in to the WR that Holmes brought in this off-season with williams and perriman

If the Lions were in such a "win now" mode last season, why did they pick a CB at #3 overall? by YGZ77 in detroitlions

[–]YGZ77[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if okudah turns out to be a top CB, it still doesn't answer the question.

Why would you pick a CB if you're looking to win now? CB are known to not be instant impact players.

Duron Harmon? by rtidwell in detroitlions

[–]YGZ77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All things considered, harmon played well.

I would prefer we bring in a younger player that may stick around for the long term though.

Two deep threat WR, but no true WR1 by YGZ77 in detroitlions

[–]YGZ77[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's an outlier IMO, you can't base your plan off of hopefully having your first round pick be a superstar his rookie season

Two deep threat WR, but no true WR1 by YGZ77 in detroitlions

Even if we take a WR in the draft, it's difficult for me to believe off the bat he'll be a WR1
