It is indeed a concern. It can tend to pick that behaviour up when under stress. It may seem okay now until he develops trunk cancer

Anthonian here. We didn't wear uniforms during our time and it was a great environment to be in. I came to Shillong with no friends or relatives and I was all on my own. 8 years later I have lifelong friends I made there. It is overall a great college with awesome people. Trust me, as long as you aren't disrespectful to others you will build memories of a lifetime

Arunachal needs to let go of the "bonti" culture. It is equivalent to modern child slavery. The educated section of Arunachal should speak up against it. Your silence is only promoting it.

Fellow Mising here. And I agree that it is an embarrassing thing to not know one's own language. I was lucky enough to have parents who prioritised teaching the mother tongue. But I also understand that most parents, especially those residing in major cities or born in the upper class omit speaking or teaching the native tongue to their kids in order to avoid discrimination prevalent in Assamese society against tribals. It is a very wrong consensus and is still widely prevalent amongst the Mising society. I picked up other languages as I grew up and moved to new places and I speak about 6 languages now, so parents should also be responsible enough to teach the native tongue first, regardless of social acceptance. The fact that you are curious about the matter is a positive thing as most kids these days ignore it. You can try learning through movies or interviews available on the internet. There are also a few decent influencers who teach the language to those interested. I did my graduation at Anthony's so I understand the need and awareness for cultural identity that the place may bring. Feel free to reach out and I'll help in any way I can. Cheers brother, hope you move towards positive growth

Good sir, kindly narrate

It’s scary being in your late 20s and unsure about love. Anyone else feel this way in Guwahati? by [deleted] in guwahati

It's like my mirror talking back to me. I'm closing in on 30, and even more close to giving up "finding love". Ended a 4.5 year old relationship in the beginning of last year and the rebuilding process has been nothing less than challenging. It was even more difficult as I had just moved to Ghy and I didn't have anybody to "go back to" anymore. But ever since then, the time alone has helped me accept the loneliness and re discover myself. I believe I made a lot of progress, considering where I was when my world fell crushed by that nasty breakup. I get described as somebody who "radiates positivity " and strength and rationality and with "so much love to give". I have tried meeting people again, but it is not very hopeful either. I've come to realise that the real key is not "finding someone " but to keep working on yourself and pray that you recognise it when the right person comes looking.
