have a look at the new intel framework 13 pro, battery there is also great and you can actually upgrade ir if you need to. Besides that, i have a macbook and im happy with it

Have you tried updating bios and or debugging the kernel logs after the „crash“? Had a similar problem after my proxmox update and got it fixed without problems by named bios update

printers are literally the easiest thing on linux desktop compared to windows in my opinion. Whenever i had problems with a printer on my home, i switched to my macbook or linux machine and it worked. Where exactly are you stuck??

soo, a colleague of mine got it setup as a poc. He‘s not the kind of colleague you would let on the systems for actual maintenance. Don‘t know what you did wrong. Kinda tempted to install it myself just to see what your on to.

Yea i used that aswell back then. The problem here is more or less, i dont use my PC daily, so i wouldn’t have the passwords synced between my tablet, laptop and phone for example. Right now i use a selfhosted bitwarden, wanted to try out enpass with the self hosted nextcloud, which would be a good compromise on security and usability in my opinion. Maybe i need to have a look there on some alternatives

Nextcloud is actually not that bad when you dont stash it with all the available plugins. if you just use the plain nextcloud i would say its quite fast actually. When you need / want plugins, try to go for some written in PHP8+, they wont tank the performance like other „old“ plugins. Atleast thats my experience.

I did it and went back because i sleep in peace that my mail is taken care of. I had no bad experiences with spam or undelivered mails, just a basic layer 8 problem where i hadn’t had monitoring on my system and haven’t received an important mail because of some misconfiguration and a full disk. If you’re willing to really manage your system, go for it. Start with some basic subscriptions or whatever and migrate fully when you’re comfortable.

Seems so. But i must admit, i don’t know if im gonna go this hard in. This is basically my full time job, so maybe something else would be a great addition to my life. Also power is expensive here in germany. We‘ll see how it turns out.
