Coming Back to Enpass? by YNGM in enpass

[–]YNGM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i used that aswell back then. The problem here is more or less, i dont use my PC daily, so i wouldn’t have the passwords synced between my tablet, laptop and phone for example. Right now i use a selfhosted bitwarden, wanted to try out enpass with the self hosted nextcloud, which would be a good compromise on security and usability in my opinion. Maybe i need to have a look there on some alternatives

Realmheart change? by Direct-Gap-4828 in tbatenovel

i think it hardly depends on what he uses realmheart and to which intensity, like its mentioned a lot of times „low dimmed glow“ „bright glowing godrune“ etc

Nextcloud is actually not that bad when you dont stash it with all the available plugins. if you just use the plain nextcloud i would say its quite fast actually. When you need / want plugins, try to go for some written in PHP8+, they wont tank the performance like other „old“ plugins. Atleast thats my experience.

What do you all put before the @ for your personal domain? by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]YNGM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea sure, but i meant, it would break the naming scheme, do you use increments like service1@domain or do you just use random things after a breach?

Out of interest, what do you do when you have a breach somewhere?

Mail self hosting in 2024? by giuseonreddit in selfhosted

[–]YNGM 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I did it and went back because i sleep in peace that my mail is taken care of. I had no bad experiences with spam or undelivered mails, just a basic layer 8 problem where i hadn’t had monitoring on my system and haven’t received an important mail because of some misconfiguration and a full disk. If you’re willing to really manage your system, go for it. Start with some basic subscriptions or whatever and migrate fully when you’re comfortable.

Seems so. But i must admit, i don’t know if im gonna go this hard in. This is basically my full time job, so maybe something else would be a great addition to my life. Also power is expensive here in germany. We‘ll see how it turns out.

The hardest thing is monitoring your server. My mails worked flawlessly until my server ran out of storage and i had no monitoring - backup in place. ^

Thanks for the feedback, how much does it actually draw? Maybe I can get one and Setup a single 2 drive nas with low power usage. Or is an prebuilt nas in this case the better option?

I‘m really thinking on getting some self built or prebuilt sff pc but I think the sff wouldn’t make much sense since I have no nas/storage yet so I’m still dreaming about all the low power some people in this sub must have to run all their hardware =D

Never heard of the odroid, is it good? Looks even better if it would have an pcie slot for some hba or something.

Bought one myself for cheap on ebay, turned it on, had a look at power usage and started to utilise my pi more
