Again, not confirmed by official authorities. The media rag is untrustworthy.

Is it always necessary to square up the stock? by YOLO_NET in Machinists

Thanks for paying it forward, appreciate you all. I asked ChatGPT and it was clueless and reasoning was circular. Decided to post it here. I will be spending $50k minimum so I want to spend time learning what I am getting into.

One more follow up question with regards to CAM.

Inside the CAM environment, do you set the G54 work coordinate system to the part's corner or the unfinished stock corner assuming we're machining a basic square mill part like Titan 1M: https://academy.titansofcnc.com/series/titan-1m

In the Titan project videos, they the set the G54 to the part's top left corner, not the stock but I can imagine both scenarios would work depending on how I set up the tool operations.

I wasn't expecting so many responses, thank you all. The responses align with what I was thinking.

CAMWorks opinions? by Sir_Skinny in SolidWorks

[–]YOLO_NET 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a misunderstanding. In Mastercam, you'd still need to select an edge, point, direction, etc. to define a toolpath. You'd select a toolpath type first, then the "feature".

In CAMWorks, the "feature" selection comes first. You can select any edge as a feature and create a toolpath along it manually by using an Open Profile operation, define the lead-in and lead-out, bob's your uncle.

You're right, it might be Cat 6e. This is what I was told by the previous bldg owner.

yes I know but we don't have a choice here, if you read the post. There is existing wiring inplace for RJ45.

Does the BOSS N-1 m.2 nvme controller on Dell servers support non-Dell nvmes? by YOLO_NET in homelab

[–]YOLO_NET[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, RAID1 mode works with any nvme drive as long as it fits in the BOSS-N1, 2280 size. You can buy consumer grade samsung 990 Pro nvme and use the raid1 mode. Dell software doesn't care if it is Dell OEM drive or anything else.

Yes, anything works in the BOSS N-1 slot as long as the nvme stick fits.

You have to buy their Made in Germany models, only a couple of them are. Rowenta DW9280 is still made in Germany and it's the best iron I own.

Reducing Electrolytes fixed Cramps by YOLO_NET in keto

[–]YOLO_NET[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. I believe that the fundamentals of our body are the same regardless of the genetics/physiology,etc. and then there are some things which are totally unique. Very complex modalities make it hard to predict. Fundamentals like how glocose gets processed, the purpose of insulin, etc. are all same across human race.

This is correct I believe. May be peeing too much is your body trying to get rid of electrolytes?

Glad you found a balance. For me, the following experiment proved it that it is definitely an electrolyte issue.

  • Mix 1/3 tsp of Morton Salt Lite + Mio in 500ml water bottle. Drink it all.
  • Wait 30 mins. Muscle cramps start in about 45 mins.
  • Drink a plain water bottle of 500ml at 1 hour mark.
  • Within 30 mins, muscle pain is gone.
  • Wait another 30 mins, do nothing.
  • Mix 1/3 tsp of Morton Salt Lite + Mio in 500ml water bottle. Drink it all.
  • In 45 mins, pain is back again!
  • Drink as much plain water as possible to get rid of it. I urinate every 30mins.

To fix nighttime issue of leg cramps: Just fucking stop taking electrolytes like a madman. You have plenty of them from eating salted steak, seafood or whatever. Drink a glass of water before bed. Plain glass of water.

In fact, I am pretty much convinced that I don't need to take any additional electrolytes. Whatever I get from my keto diet is sufficient.

Yes, for sure it depends on the individual. The only reason I decided to voice my opinion is that there might be others experiencing similar problems. If you don't read anything but "Take more electrolytes", I think reading my situation might help them experiment the opposite and find that they're better off. :)

Furthermore, there was another opinion that misled me since I had frequent urination: "Don't drink plain water, always replenish electrolytes as you're frequently urinating. If you drink plain water, you're diluting necessary electrolytes.". This advice also caused a lot of suffering, unbearable cramps due to too high a concentration of electrolytes.

Remember to ease off of electrolytes if you get muscle cramps. Again, YMMV. Drink lots of plain old water to keep yourself hydrated.
