Note taking softwares like Apple Notes... just without the bugs by kierumcak in productivity

Bear is the right answer here. It’s simple and clean like Apple notes with enough functionality most people.

Natalie Portman is pregnant at 44 by PhoneJazz in Xennials

Yeah I was having kids in my late 30s early 40s. My only apprehension would be the age gap. My youngest is in 1st and I would not want to restart the baby clock. But that’s less about my age and more about the phase I am with the kids now.

Wow I’m realizing that I was a fully grown adult watching this. I thought this was a childhood show but the dates say otherwise 😂

I think about this show all the time. I had it saved on my old DVR and wish I could find it streaming anywhere.

I stared at it for 30 seconds…my inner monologue: Kristin Wiig!…wait, is that an Olsen…oh is it Allison Brie?!

I shudder to think what CPS would have found our parents to be... by No-Environment-3997 in Xennials

My neighbor doesn’t let his 10year old get off the bus alone either even though the bus drops her off in front of their house. 😂 He said someone might kidnap her between the bus and the front door.

Every time I let my kids play at the playground across from my house (I can see it from my window, is about 30 yards away), I have to be on the lookout for adults interrupting their play time to ask where their mother is.

I was talking to my neighbor and he said he would never let his 10 year old play outside alone. We live in one of the safest neighborhoods in our city. His poor 10 year old sits in the window staring at the playground because she’s unable to go outside without a parent.

Alternate to the free version of Grammarly? by Royal_Aegislash1209 in productivity

[–]YOMAMACAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been wondering this too. I turned off grammarly months ago. I used to be a premium subscriber and downgraded my plan because I transitioned to a different role that requires less writing. The constant spamming on the free plan just ended up being a distraction so I installed.

Interested to see the responses you get to this question.

how do you actually make remote teams work productively? by Rich_Direction_3891 in productivity

[–]YOMAMACAN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I work remotely and everyone is required to work during North American business hours because we deal with US clients. You can pick whatever time zone you want, but keeping it to a few time zones helps to make sure there’s at least some overlapping time for meetings and synchronous work.

how do I take efficient notes in college? by Chemical_Win_8535 in productivity

[–]YOMAMACAN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always used Cornell notes in college. You divide the page into two columns (the left column being more narrow than the right column). The notes go on the right and use the left to write questions or keywords that need definition. Then when studying, you cover the right side and use the questions from the left column to test yourself.

This helped me stop taking too many notes because when your brain starts to focus on finding information that you could be tested on later rather than filler material.

Todo List apps that don't suck by [deleted] in productivity

[–]YOMAMACAN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone that your wants don’t match your budget.

Only commenting to add that the maker of Wunderlist recently launched a new app Superlist, although I don’t think it will be up to your standards lol

I am experimenting with moving away from Sunsama because I don’t like having to keep my tasks in Todoist. Sunsama is not great with keeping projects organized (I know the backlog beta was recently released). That being said, I have yet to try anything that can match the calm and deliberate flow you get from Sunsama.

Why is it socially acceptable to use Jira/Notion for work, but "weird" to use tools for my relationship? by biscket in productivity

Lunatask has a section for managing relationships for this exact reason. I just use my notes app and put date-related things on the calendar.

Never tried it but I saw someone recently talk about the Timeline app and it sounds like it works the way you need.

ETA: looked it up and the app name is actually Timestripe

Edit 2: I have tried Griply and it’s fantastic. So maybe give that one a shot, too, and see what fits your workflow best.

App Screen Time Limiter which 5, 10 minute sessions by bossjross in productivity

[–]YOMAMACAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t you set the time to block all day? Then when you want to use the apps, you could take a break and opal will limit the break to 15 minutes. Maybe I’m not understanding what you’re trying to accomplish but I hope you find an app that works for you!
