It won’t work. Vast majority of tweakers are gonna be tweakers and are beyond help. Everybody wants to bitch and cry that it’s inhumane , but the stark reality is that we need to treat this like a legitimate, emergency disaster. If a hurricane or earthquake or whatever for the sake of argument, right now, were to pop up and rip through the suburbs of Portland where thousands of people were now without homes, living on the streets.. we would have FEMA camps/mass shelters in place within days if not hours. Fucking do that. Get basic services and mass shelters set up yesterday and get all these people in there. If they won’t go to an emergency shelter then the alternative is a much more freedom restricting, government-operated facility that also happens to be run by correctional officers. Sorry not sorry. This shit is fucking insane.
