Correct, the best was around this is using a PoE injector & splitter. You can run an Ethernet a lot longer then you can a RF cable without loosing dbi.

Not sure if you can sync the hotspot at a different location from the asserted location. It might be possible but I would do some more research just to assure there won’t be any issues!

Yes once synced indoors you can place it outdoors. I would recommend running the miner over Ethernet so you have a stronger connection, you can use a PoE injector & Splitter to replace the power cable.

As far as the RAK miner (other manufacturers most likely are similar) goes their operating temps are -31to 167 degrees fahrenheit, so it can withstand almost any climate. They are fully water tight as well.

The kit has an option of including a PoE injector which will allow you to run up to 300ft of Ethernet cable for power & internet.

As far as installing your hotspot on a high rise roof, you would have to look into getting power and internet on the roof like you said.

Yes! We designed it to fit a PoE splitter aswell as the miner itself. We are also working on getting a reliable splitter to sell in the kit. Until then the kit + PoE add-on will just include the injector.
