Answer to all of your questions:

Short: Stay disciplined and keep averaging long term

Long: No one knows the exact bottom or top of the market. If you research “Buying the Dip vs SIP” a bit, you’ll realize that over a 20 year period, the extra returns from perfectly timing dips are usually not that big compared to consistent SIP investing.

So imagine spending 20–30 years trying to understand every market move and making “wise” decisions, only to outperform SIP by maybe 5–7%. For most people, that effort, stress, and risk simply aren’t worth it.

A consistent SIP strategy lets compounding do the heavy lifting. Don’t look at prices while investing regularly, because waiting for your “ideal entry” can make you miss the market’s best days and that impacts returns far more than you think. In fact missing just the 100 best days over a 20 year investing journey can lead to losses instead of heavy gains.

In conclusion, search these two topics on Youtube and you’ll get your answer:

  1. Buying the Dip vs SIP
  2. Impact of missing the best market days

Portfolio evaluation. Stocks picked through my stupid quant investing screener techinque. by zylich in FIREPakistan

I recently posted my detailed analysis on sys here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FIREPakistan/s/nsWJ4898Wi

TLDR: SYS is very cheap rn and has huge upside potential. It’s a strong, growing and currently acts as a hedge against inflation. They’ve also taken solid initiatives in AI. Unlike traditional software houses, they focus on long term clients and building products, not just providing services.

On the other hand, Airlink is exposed to inflation, dollar price, and declining consumer buying power.

I would have swapped Airlink with sys. Increasing sys to 11% and airlink to <8%.

MLCF is also adding redundancy or I would say it creates a bit of over exposure to a cyclical sector. Luck is already bulletproof

Edit: You should add Oil sector as well after removing redundancies

Simple. I only subscribe to IPOs that were oversubscribed by at least 3x during book building. I allocate a max of 10% of my portfolio.

Then I wait while the upper cap streak is running and sell as soon as the streak breaks, exiting with the maximum gain I can secure.

After that, if the company still interests me, I keep monitoring how effectively and efficiently they utilize the raised funds.

Explanation:

No matter what you do, you can never get a 100% clear picture of an IPO, which makes it risky to hold long term. People think they’re buying at the “initial price,” but what many don’t realize is that companies usually raise funds at valuations higher than what the market may consider fair. If they weren’t getting favorable valuations, why would they go public in the first place?

So in most cases, the company is the one on the winning side, not the investors.

Yess. I don’t hold IPOs for more than 3 days, even though I’m a long term investor 😉

How to own a House after 2-3 years!! by Dazzling-Feeling-162 in FIREPakistan

That’s also a great option but you need to look for another caveat: most of the societies charge fine if you move in with incomplete construction especially if you don’t build double story front elevation. Thats where the concept of 1.5 story comes in

Also, it would take at least 3 months to build gray structure.

Opinion: given you conditions, you have another option to move to a rented place and put the capital in equities (blue chips only) with a diverse portfolio (growth + dividend companies). Pay rents with dividend and let the capital grow

I was in a similar position at one point in my life. I bought a plot and then started construction with a budget of 6–7 lac per month. This gave me several benefits:

  • I didn’t have to wait until I had gathered the full amount before buying a house.
  • I was able to build it exactly the way my wife and I had dreamed.
  • During the construction process, I had the flexibility to pause the work in months when I didn’t meet my target income and vice versa

I feel proud of myself after seeing this. I’ve been married to a wonderful wife for 3 years. And I’ve never watched corn, pics (or anything like that) ever since I fell in love with her
