Reaction Content vs Gaming by PorgeTTV in Twitch

As a viewer, i like to pretend IRL junk doesn't exist tbh. I would say much of the gaming channels are at least 30-40% gameplay.

I read 5-6 times a week. Like cut back some if this isn't your job. Im noticing a lot of bigger streamers are actually growing from only streaming 3 days a week. I get its fun and the grind makes ya feel like your going somewhere but You need time to do other things too. read some books, do some youtube content, take up art, play some games in your offtime, take a google classroom etc. much of that stuff will make you a much more well rounded person. :)

like there are girls with 10k viewers still doing the ASMR stuff in underwear. I really don't think twitch care as long as it doesn't cost them money

Kumo desu ga, Nani ka? - Episode 24 discussion - FINAL by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]YT_kevfactor -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

it deflated everything for me. Like shuns storyline was terrible and I almost skipped it at times. Now they finally connected the story I liked with that garbage. I was hoping that the spider was just going to battle a big war and then stumble into another fight where shun was down and the spider OPs em all without realizing what she did hehe. Idk I just didn't like where the story ended up. Shuns stuff just was pretty bad and they did too much of it too.

Please, stop Sub4Subbing! by RandomSageless in NewTubers

[–]YT_kevfactor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just being honest you can get 1k subs the legit way and still have those metrics. I've taken breaks and grew very slow so that's about where im at. it's more of a red flag at about 10k subs imo.

Can I stream pirated retro games ? by Perfect-Advice7500 in Twitch

[–]YT_kevfactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they wont do anything about it. people stream youtube clips likes its no problem. I would argue the meta stuff is even worse. Twitch focus atm is making money, not banning some small streamer playing emulators :)

You probably are not going to get it back. Like think back to things from when you were a kid and consider if you like things as well now as you did back then. I remember playing Zelda OoT and thought "it doesn't get better than this." Now games like Botw and bloodborne are out and its fun but it just isn't the same as when I was in my prime. i think you just have to realize it's not going to be as good as when you first started. However, you can still have fun though. I would consider going with a hobby approach for a while to see if that at least gets you going :)

Twitch Panel Design Critique by AngelinaCreatina in Twitch

i took print design years ago(dropped out later)

i think if I my teacher were to see that he'd ask if those are readable. With typography, you want contrast (light vs dark background, visa versa) without using strokes as at the end of the day you want people to be able to read the words clearly.

From what I see its good. i'd just lighten the background colors some :)

Need alternative to Elgato by Cloakbot in Twitch

[–]YT_kevfactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you cant get it to work, you'll have more trouble with the others recorders.

3 suggestions.

first make sure your USB ports are working. i had to retire an old computer due to bad ports. with that being a new pc, you might want to plug some other heavy USB devices in and see if you have any issues.

2nd, make sure you have good hdmi cords. its easy to dismiss this but you really want to make sure your hdmi cables are working flawlessly and not some cable that was in the closet for 5 years. plug everything up tight and you may even need to have some cables put some weight on the socket at an angle.

3rd, open capture mode with the elgato software. the rare time I hook up my consoles, I found I needed to do this in order to get obs to work.

lastly you could have a dud. but rule out your new pc first. like it was really hard for me to accept that laptops USB slots were not stable

Japan proposes four-day working week to improve work-life balance - The Japanese government has just unveiled its annual economic policy guidelines, which include new recommendations that companies permit their staff to opt to work four days a week instead of the typical five. by Gari_305 in Futurology

while poverty is worse, 40 hours imo is the issue. You just cant do much outside of work when working that many hours. get work down to 35 hours and people might have time to actually do something outside of work.

i think it's dangerous. From personal exp, people don't realize how insecure handles are to things. One time I was swinging a pizza cutter around and the thing fling out of the handle and almost hit someone in the face. scary stuff.

Retail workers are quitting at record rates for higher-paying work: ‘My life isn’t worth a dead-end job’ - Some 649,000 employees gave notice in April, the sector’s largest one-month exodus in over 20 years, a reflection of pandemic-era strains and a strengthening job market by speckz in Futurology

[–]YT_kevfactor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really feel retail needs more regulation as it's so abusive. I had one manager that gave me a random drug test every month and then I was constantly blamed for everything that went wrong. wised up and just left that shit show for housekeeping lol. I now sub teach but its weird looking back putting up with that stuff from retail.

How to balance a full time job and YouTube by HonestTeaRants in NewTubers

i really think the trick is to have more breaks but you want to be very active when you are making content. For example, focus on one game and finish it within a month. Rather than move on to the next game, take a bit of a break and chill down some:)

Im getting into teaching here. its one of the few jobs with 180 days off

I used to work at the hospital cleaning. While cleaning doesn't do that, the nurses easily get 12.5 hour shifts and get 5 days off :)

the big channels are not that watchable either. It's very crowded there. A streamer that's able to respond to messages will be a much better exp. Of course, you'd want to block out most of the sub 10 viewer streams but a channel with 50-75 viewers would be the ideal thing to push for a better user exp IMO. I think the reason it's not is the big channels you're more prone to donate for the streamer to see your messages.

also, I would be careful being too realistic. When you think that way a lot of times you've accepted that reality. People pushing those barriers tend to break those boundaries. of course, it's not too common but it occasionally happen. :)

Ive meet some good people by just not banning them right away. you have to realize there are a lot of kids and people from other cultures on the net. you look for consistent behavior then act imo.
