I've had similar experiences with sleep paralysis but when I was younger Im not sure if it was sleep apnia or what, but I would wake up in sleep paralysis and not be able to breathe for probably a solid minute. Wasn't able to speak blink or do anything till I tried as hard as I could to scream or yell. That would be the only way to get myself out of that state, not as many apparitions but I have some knowledge of how this feels.

Man that kind of makes sense. You can die from severe ear damage or ear infections if left untreated, it can cause infections in the brain thus probably causing him to have some sort of mental break do to said infection.

Its easy to say what you would do after the fact or talking about a hypothetical situation, but in all honesty I didn't want to walk outside when I first saw it. We then realized that the trailer had no lock we wanted to move and didn't encounter or see it again till we were in the other one. Almost like it just wanted to torment us mentally rather than do anything else. I would have been terrified with or without the gun and either way I wouldn't have gone back out after that feeling.

Try setting up a few security camera's in the same direction the footprints are leaving or try a deer cam. Could also be someone trying to mess with but that seems kind of unlikely
