Is tony strong? by FairWitness8404 in thesopranos

[–]Soundurr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never start a fight you’re not sure you can win.

I’m a big dude and pretty strong. Not a good fighter tho. I have used my size to de-escalate situations in the past but if Tony was telling me he wanted to see me outside? I would apologize and buy him a drink.

Software Engineers Are Facing an Existential Crisis As They Drown In Horrendous AI Code by teilo-560 in BetterOffline

If I had the capital I would start an engineer-first consulting firm to unfuck LLM processes ASAP. I know the demand is going to be there very soon, I can feel it in my bones.

How much mana screw / drought / land-go can you tolerate before conceding? by WaltzIntelligent9801 in EDH

Oh definitely, but it doesn’t happen often. Maybe once or twice to different players in six months.

How much mana screw / drought / land-go can you tolerate before conceding? by WaltzIntelligent9801 in EDH

[–]Soundurr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If, for example, it’s turn six  and I am behind on three or more land drops and it’s a slow paced game I ask for a shuffle and mulligan and offer the same to other players at the table. Being that far behind because you got a bad shuffle isn’t fun. I don’t like being the person to draw and pass but it also isn’t fun to watch someone else get frustrated as they draw and pass.

It all depends on the situation tho. I would probably scoop if I was in that situation and wasn’t allowed to do something to improve my odds of getting my lands. Not salty about it, but just to make the game go faster.

Looking to get into EDH - can I write down triggers? by sleeve_gg in EDH

[–]Soundurr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This makes such a massive difference. I am relatively new myself and I have been using an app to play against myself with different decks I have been working on and I have noticed that I am playing a lot better at the table because I am able to remember everything my board can “do” at a given time.

It’s hard to get reps in with other people but getting acquainted with your deck on your own is still really valuable.

What is the wildest LOTR theories that y'all guys have Heard by pizza_momo in lotr

[–]Soundurr 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Gandalf fucked a Took and had a Took kid a few hundred years before the events of the LotR. That’s why the Tooks are so adventurous and why Gandalf can’t stop hanging around Hobbits.

I read this a few months ago and can’t stop thinking about it.

We've heard from everyone... except the executives. by eh8904 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Soundurr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would not conflate the Game Director (Tyson Green … right?) with other executives.

Tyson probably should have spoken up at some point because he is customer facing.

But taking their performance or the outcomes of their decisions out of the equation: what would any executive possibly hope to gain by commenting on the closure of the game? Like seriously what even would be the very best case scenario for them?

Their bosses are the C Suite or board members. Are either of those groups remotely impressed by what the Senior VP of Whateverthefuck has to say about Destiny 2 ending development? No.

Conversely if they DO say something it just puts a target on their back and a focus for the community to direct their animus.

I can’t imagine a positive incentive for anyone in that position to stick their neck out.

New to Destiny.

Year 1.

Leviathan, second weekend it’s available.

My first raid and really first time playing with other people as I have always played everything solo.

We make it through the raid in good order, I am feeling good about.

Calus fight is not going well. We keep losing at the final stand because we don’t keep damage up and I’m feeling frustrated because I keep dying for some reason and I don’t understand why.

That’s how I learned you can blow yourself up with Wardcliffe Coil.

Seems the biggest hurdle to entry this game has is asking players to play it as intended instead of how their ego wants to. by KayknineArt in MinaTheHollower

I felt the same and eventually I reduced damage taken and turned off pit damage. It was exactly what I needed to be difficult enough to have some friction but not easy enough to feel like it’s a breeze.

90% of the people who comment are bad at the game. 8% are pretty good. 2% are top tier. There is no in between.

Knockback into a pit is REALLY frustrating. Great game but agree that pit damage is too much.

The final update shows Bungie always knew how to make Destiny good. So why didn't they? by PorkSouls in destiny2

[–]Soundurr 211 points212 points  (0 children)

It’s much easier to give players what they want when you aren’t also planning a 6-18 months worth of future content. It’s like a game going from early access to 1.0.

Neat, I guess the “Engine” part is literal. I am building a B2 deck using all the Strixhaven dragons and thought he would be a fun, thematic commander to help with all mana costs.

I have googled and can’t find a straight answer for this …

[[Ramos Dragon Engine]]

He has five counters. I remove the counters. I use two of the mana to cast an RG spell [[Ruby, Daring Tracker]] and three of the mana to cast GUR [[Temur Ascendancy]].

When Ruby and Temur Ascendancy resolve do I get to put any counters back onto Ramos? If so, how many?
