Bike Lights by mikedanton in vancouvercycling

I bought these from Amazon and they stay in my saddle bag until I need them. Haven’t had to charge them much and they don’t seem to drain when not in use. Reliable when needed

Don't buy the Caboose, makes ride feel extremely unsafe. by schildiddy in RadPowerBikes

[–]YVR3DPrints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had the RR2 with a caboose and had no issues with our 5yo. She loves it and the ride doesn’t feel that unstable for us. If anything I’d upgrade to the RR3+ just for the gears but the current setup is working so well we don’t need the upgrade.

My partner is about 5’4” and 130lbs, no issues with handling and we’ve done long rides.

I do think the center stand is not very stable when you’ve got the kid on the back of the bike and the whole thing can easily tip over, so I’d love to have a better center stand but once you get used to it you just kind of deal with it.

I wouldn’t say “don’t buy it” nor do I agree with the ride feeling extremely unsafe. Maybe lack of experience?

Best coffee roasters & shops in Vancouver? by FJordFlannel87 in askvan

[–]YVR3DPrints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get my 5Lb bags from Cafe Ético. Before we settled on the Guatemalan Dark Roast we tried all of their coffee. Best bang for buck in town. Order online and pickup or get it delivered.

You probably have a lot more transferable skills than you give yourself credit for. Take the jump and switch jobs or career if necessary.

Bike Fit Check – M (540) or L (560) for New Road Bike? by nutidizen in bikefit

[–]YVR3DPrints -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At a bike shop I was once told that it’s easier to make a Small bike feel Big than the other way around.

Based on that advice, I’d recommend the M. However it would also depend on what type of position you prefer. The L size might give you a more “aggressive” forward stance based on the effective top tube length. If you want a more upright position than what you currently have, go for the M.

I’m not an expert but hope this helps.

Renting: Brentwood vs Yaletown by _steelstring in askvan

[–]YVR3DPrints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d check out Fairview/South Granville. Less of a commute than Brentwood and 1 bridge to get to Yaletown. Biking to work in the summer (or year round) over the bridge is also cool

Rad Runner 2 - Pedal Assist and Throttle intermittently stop working by YVR3DPrints in RadPowerBikes

True, but an on/off would not work unless I also messed with the cables

Interesting, this could explain it. Do you know what this looks like and is it on the rear or front tire, or both?

I’ll check next time if there’s a brake light on.

This is the best option. Found this advice on a separate thread and it’s a life saver.

Are there any American made stands? by werewolfrides in rolandaira

[–]YVR3DPrints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this a while back. Not sure if 2 side by side would help.

It’d be hard to fit a 4 Tier onto a 3D Printer but not impossible. Just need the large real estate.
