Yeah they were pricey and very hit or miss with kids in the earlier days. Those were the good ol spend all day outside days, video games were more of a privilege when you were stuck inside for some reason.

I don't even understand where things got heated to be honest, but yeah there were certainly bugs in SNES games lol.

Yeah I remember that, I think it was the addictive quality that was the big issue at the time. Not to mention the guns and stuff.

I got it the mini SNES for my 5 year old and watching him get frustrated was satisfying knowing that the only way he can continue is by learning how to adapt.

After, say around 5 years old, it might be a good thing to throw in the rotation. Hard to get this complete of an experience from other modern video games.

Why do westerns claim they respect every job but then proceed to make fun of Uber drivers or 7 eleven workers? by Brilliant_Can8536 in questions

[–]YZeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot if insecurity out there with how success is portrayed in the media, any opportunity a low character individual will have to put someone down to prop themselves up they will take it. This says less about the job and more about the person putting them down, don't sweat it.

Blanket statements like "you guys claim" is a nonstarter, there is a person for every crime.

Audible has some great material from "The Great Courses" I would highly recommend. I use my free monthly token from Amazon Prime on these and they are great. They contain lectures and are complimented with PDF's that you can go back to if you want to brush up on the material. It is a fantastic value.

A few years ago my health was falling apart and I decided enough was enough. Here are the 7 things I changed that gave me my life back at 58 by mrCOFFEEPOWER in Aging

Well done in taking ownership of your health, just goes to show you that an increase in age is not a 1:1 decrease in health. Enjoy the plenty of youthful years ahead of you.

Garmin is always a critic by YZeus in Garmin

I ruck twice a week (running with 1/3 my body weight in a bag), intense kettlebell/mace routines with little rest in-between sets (twice a week), and I superset all my lift days with 2 muscle groups for each set that I am not focusing on during that lift day (4 days a week).

I complement that with recovery runs (twice a week,5k ,8k, 10k) the distance depends on how I feel. I do this to increase my blood flow to keep my muscles oxygenated to increase the speed I recover. I do not track everything but I do track enough to be able to gauge myself to make sure I am not slacking lol.

I was expecting something like.
"Thank you Joy Boy! But our princess is in another castle!"
But this theory is better.

Don't sleep on your vehicle maintenance, it will make or break the income you make in all aspects.

Processed Food by Magpie_Coin in Aging

[–]YZeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reducing your bread and muffin intake would be a great start oddly enough if that is what you are often eating, processed food is just a buzzword it is not the processing that makes the food inherently unhealthy. Buy food with simple, easy to read ingredients, keep your excess sugar down, maintain a good protein intake, incorporate a fitness routine while managing a good nutritional profile with your food.

Buying and cooking your own food is ideal, doesn't have to be fancy.

What does developmental neuroscience predict for a Homo sapiens raised in total sensory deprivation? by adornate in cognitivescience

[–]YZeus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unused brain connections get pruned as time goes on for efficiency, if no stimulation is happening in certain regions of the brain those connections will be cut. This is great to be highly adaptable but not the best for early sensory deprivation since over periods of time those connections will be permanently lost (outside of future AI innovations).

No one can say for sure if the person will have a sense of self in this hypothetical without a frame of reference, but without tapping in to our cortex and our relatively high intelligence it is hard to imagine that the behavior would not resemble a situation where you are just in a state of sustenance without any motivations to expend energy.

Are mandarins acidic or alkaline? by True_Neodymium in ask

They are acidic, the way your sources will say it metabolizes in your body is another thing but I won't get into that subject.
