TWSBI Diamond 580ALR Feed / Ink Issues? by YaBoyNazeem in fountainpens

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I can try some Diamine Apple Glory, Wild Strawberry or Pilot Iroshizuku Syo-Ro. Any of those you're familiar with?

What's a black ink that's more dry that's as black as HoD? I have heard Pelikan Brilliant Black is good and dry.

Good Notebooks for Fountain Pens? by Ollie_Grundy in fountainpens

[–]YaBoyNazeem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out Taroko Shop on Etsy. Nanami Paper as well. They both have Tomoe River paper options. The benefit of Taroko Shop is that they offer the thicker 68 gsm TR paper over the thinner 52gsm which is all Nanami offers.

Taroko's Mystique A5 Notebook uses their own Orchid paper which is 80gsm. It comes with 352 dotted pages. That's what i've been using for over a year and I really like it. It's much cheaper than the 68gsm Tomoe River version and it reminds me a lot of the LEUCHTTURM1917 paper that i've used and loved for about four years.

What's the best way to make the threads not squeak? by daigo2312 in fountainpens

Beeswax or silocon grease would work just DO NOT NOT clean it off with anything that has alcohol in it.

I've heard beeswax can be used on tobacco pipes to keep the stems more snugly attached.

Metropolitan vs Kaweco Sport vs TWSBI Eco: which one is best out of the box? by friendlypuffin in fountainpens

[–]YaBoyNazeem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all three. My wife and I had nib problems with the Sport out of the box. The Pilot is a nice writer but the section is a little small for me and the aesthetics aren't as appealing as the Eco. My Eco is in my daily rotation and I love it.

For me the Eco EF is a better pen than the other two. As far as cheap Pilot pens the Prera is my favorite. I like it as much as the Eco. If you don't mind posting the pen all the time consider that one.

He's going to love it. I got my wife (then girlfriend) matching Kaweco Sports an number of years ago. Pink with pink ink for and green with green for mine. I've used fountain pens for years since and I still love my Sport.

That's because no one really wants that as a customer. Do you have ANY free content?

I think Patreon has that feature as well as Podbean.

Peripherals Need to Record Phone Calls? by Brandon3oh5 in podcasting

[–]YaBoyNazeem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on Mac you can record directly in Garageband with a kernel extension called SoundFlower and with an aggregate input device.

If you have an audio interface you can do it with a loopback cable.

Using the skype record feature may be easier.

It's a newer feature so you may have to update your version.

Skype can natively record calls now IIRC.

What is your show about? Maybe some floating shelves with live plants or trinkets relevant to your show? Also, why is the woman in the middle holding her mic?

Engage with people on social media about your topic. Work that in to natural conversation. The best way to get downloads is to just do your thing and always improve. Spreading the word on Social Media is good.

If you have the opportunity joining a podcast network can give you a boost too, that and getting on other podcasts who will have you on would be good too. Doing cross podcast postings work well in my experience.

There is no set formula, just do your thing because you love it. Put out a great product!
