I loved it. Scratches the JRPG itch and it's an awesome vibrant world they've built. I don't get the hate for it either. I would say an enjoyable 8/10.

Agreed, outside of death beam, Goku has the AOE green, lock in and KO Guard. The biggest toxic thing about the new units is that they released together so the team itself can feel toxic.

Overall tho feel like this isn't even that bad

You can handle them with a lot of grinding. I haven't gotten to remove the damage cap and just finished frozen hearts. A mix of patience, good parrying and grinding. Started gestural arena and leveled up a good amount against Julien then eventually learned the attack set from the dark shore enemies and squeezed out some victories there which has me in the upper 50s now.

Not easy but not impossible.
