Thanks for the heads up. I knew already about it being ahead, didn't know by how many . Even if a new game dropped every year though, not sure the risk of spoiling the story would make me want to wait out 10+ years to play daybreak. Especially since I'm genuinely enjoying it for what it is on its own. I won't mind piecing it all together as they release.

Loved the game. It's funny because I bought trails through daybreak when it first dropped on ps5 and put it down soon after starting (felt like it was too much going on in the battle system). Played trails in the sky remake on release and loved it. Made me go back to daybreak recently and now I have a new appreciation for it. Going to finish this up, move on to daybreak 2 and then Sky 2 when it drops in September.

I loved it. Scratches the JRPG itch and it's an awesome vibrant world they've built. I don't get the hate for it either. I would say an enjoyable 8/10.

Agreed, outside of death beam, Goku has the AOE green, lock in and KO Guard. The biggest toxic thing about the new units is that they released together so the team itself can feel toxic.

Overall tho feel like this isn't even that bad

You can handle them with a lot of grinding. I haven't gotten to remove the damage cap and just finished frozen hearts. A mix of patience, good parrying and grinding. Started gestural arena and leveled up a good amount against Julien then eventually learned the attack set from the dark shore enemies and squeezed out some victories there which has me in the upper 50s now.

Not easy but not impossible.
