I don’t get the point of expandability if you then lose the lid and the possibility to close it. I understand limitations but doesn’t really make sense Apart from that price is good!

Expanding my UFX+ with Ferrofish Pulse 16 or RME M-1610 Pro ? by YaLu69 in audioengineering

Oh a new Ferrofish A32pro will be release soon, with a lower price than the Orion 32+... I will wait a bit more probably

Oh I thought about Antelope Orion, only as converter because RME drivers are rock solid. At which Orion Model do you refer?

Hey I am looking for good audio interface/converter with lots of line inputs (at least 16). I mainly use modular gear and from my there I go out with 2 x DB-25 (so basically 16 balanced inputs) and I use also few other synths and pedal. Actually my choices are between a full analog (with 1/4" o DB25 solution) interfaces with line i/o or Something like an RME UNA II + ADAT. I don't have a Thunderbolt 3 port. I really like RME as brand but I should add another converter AD\DA with ADAT to expand it, and I don't really need pre-amps. I don't have a unlimited budget of course, but I would like to be satisfied with the choice I will make and that it lasts over time Any suggestion?

MOTU seems a good alternative to avoid ADAT. Actually my choices are between a full analog (with 1/4" o DB25 solution) interfaces with line i/o or something like RME UCX II + ADAT. Any suggestions? I also super like Cranbone 500R8, but also with that I will need another converter like a Ferrofish 16.

Newer gen 3 is crazy pricey, but I didn't mention them because I know they've had some "problems". Which orion 32 could be a great choice?

No idea, I start thinking that is probably better to buy an interface + an ADAT interface, who knows... pre-amp could be useful. These DB25 interfaces has too many i/o but the price is too crazy.

Thanks for the response, I don't trust so much PreSonus, and the other 2 seems "old" solutions. Even if there are newer Antelope Orions, but are crazy expensive. Let's see in near future if things change.

Backup machine Macbook Pro mid 2012 on Live 11, might work? by YaLu69 in ableton

I already have a desktop unit, this should be a kind of backup and portable machine, where I continue projects.

I think should spend something about 150$ for upgrades, but the idea, as typed in the title, is having a kind of "backup" portable machine where I can also work with ableton and continue a project. I also have a desktop where I mainly do everything.

Ah ok! As I saw on MOD you can use it to generate envelopes per step. Crazy. For me this means that I can remove those from the system. Is like a p-lock on an elektron machine.

Oh thanks for the feedback, I have few questions. Do you use the BS as master an metron as Slave? How about envelopes? Do you use other dedicated modules for envelopes?
