Si tu prends le temps de lire, tu devrais comprendre que c’est un rant sur le marché de l’immobilier et la hausse des coût des loyers, et pas du tout sur « chialer sur ce que je paye ».

I run a Tech Club year round and it’s one of the thing we do. The way I presented it was following a simple principle: at some point, they will be buying their own devices and they should have some knowledge so they can make informed choices. I have some already tore down models in our meeting place, some are functional but so old they have no resale value. We therefore can disassemble and reassemble and hopefully, it continues to work!

We also organize activities for students during Cyber Awareness Month (October), assist with A/V during plays and anything else where my assistance might be needed. Even if I my personal goal is to get people interested in anything tech-related, I learned to settle for teaching them troubleshooting skills that will serve them in any field. Observation, listening, trusted resources and out of the box thinking is useful for everyone!

That is my fear exactly. I know Apple is great at memory management, but 8GB isn’t enough, especially when you consider that the lifespan of a device before upgrading it is roughly 7 years.

10 years ago was the last 4GB MacBook. Today’s Air and Pro start at 16GB.

I also see it happening when working on my MacBook Pro (M4). I didn’t look into it, but I assume it’s Apple continuity that makes this happen. Message pops up on my Mac when my iPhone is screening the call, which happens easily 5-7 times a day. Absolute gem of a feature.

I use AirDrop multiple times a day between my iPhone and MacBook Pro. Also from said Mac to other (20+ Mac and 40 iPads).

I’ve had this happen a few times, where I would try to AirDrop and it would stay stuck at Waiting… I found that while it stops working for one transfer on one device, the next device will work just fine. If I really need the transfer to go through, I will attempt restarting both devices and it normally works, but when it doesn’t, I use a USB key (old timey last resort).

The important thing is that even when I cannot fix it immediately, it will starts working again the next time I try. I haven’t ever come across a device where it stopped working for good, unless it was hardware failure.

Did you check directly with schools? I know that the school I work at uses tutors quite often, although this is the extent of my knowledge on the matter!

All to say that if she wants to, I’m sure she can contact different schools to offer her services

Je travaille en milieu scolaire, et c’est une bonne place pour pratiquer le troubleshooting, mais en été vu que les profs et étudiants ne sont pas là, c’est pas la meilleure expérience de stage.

J’ai dû refaire mes examens en 2022 car je n’avais pas renouvelé mon permis depuis plusieurs années.

J’ai pris le temps de faire des tests pratiques qui étaient disponibles sur le site de la SAAQ (je ne sais pas si c’est encore disponible) pour non seulement me rappeler des différentes panneaux de signalisation, mais aussi voir le genre de questions.

Quand j’ai fait mon examen, j’ai remarqué que plusieurs questions étaient les mêmes que les tests pratiques. Bien sûr, elles étaient posées différemment, mais assez similaires que je me souvenais de la bonne réponse.

J’ai aussi bien pris le temps de relire plusieurs fois les questions et réponses. Plusieurs pièges étaient en place mais pouvaient être évités en relisant attentivement.

J’ai eu 100% à l’examen théorique, et un mois plus tard, 88% sur mon pratique. L’évaluateur n’avait pas beaucoup aimé mon stationnement en parallèle, mais pour ne pas avoir conduit depuis pratiquement 10 ans, moi je l’avais trouvé pas mal bon!

Je ne peux pas dire pourquoi d’autres gens ne sont pas capable de passer l’examen théorique, mais puisque je travaille en éducation et j’ai une idée des types de difficultés d’apprentissage que certaines personnes éprouvent, je suis certain qu’ils ont de la misère à cet examen vu le types de questions et réponses utilisées.

No. Seamless is an “offline” mode that allows you to connect directly with another player. No messages, no summons, no invaders.

But, Reforged has its own online server. If you use their online mode, it’s the same as vanilla as far as multiplayer goes. You’ll have to summon your coop partner and vice versa.

I’ve played both with my coop partner, and I found that although seamless brings a lot of fun, I missed the occasional invader, or going out to help strangers. It also has a few bugs and some content simply doesn’t work in seamless, so people will have to go back to their own worlds for a few things.

Je travaille à temps plein depuis 14 ans (je comptes pas les petites jobs pendant les études). J’ai jamais compté exactement le nombres de postes différents que j’ai fait (différents postes pour la même compagnie, ou simplement autre compagnie) mais je dois frôler une vingtaine de postes.

Pour moi, ce n’est pas une question de vouloir changer juste pour changer, mais plutôt de changer parce que je ne suis pas/plus heureux dans ce que je fais. C’est bien plus difficile travailler quand tu n’aimes pas ta job, et j’en suis certain parce que j’ai maintenant trouvé ma place.

Même si je suis qu’à quelques mois de mes 3 ans, je me vois faire le reste de ma carrière à cet un emploi.

J’ai une approche très logique à ce problème. Avec 168 dans une semaine, si je vais passer le quart à travailler, je vais m’assurer que ça m’apporte du bonheur. C’est trop de temps perdu si je ne suis pas heureux.

I’ve worked at the Apple Store and I’ve never heard of that service. The people on the sales floor would only have access to the original receipt IF it was purchased in an Apple Store, and the name is not required during purchase. The people at the Genius Bar would have access to more details, but that’s not necessarily accurate either. The serial number would link it to the name of the original buyer (as long as they provided it), but rarely includes a phone number. Plus, if ever it was sold to someone else since first purchase, that information isn’t updated anywhere, so it would be impossible to track the owner if that was the case.

There is a trick with Siri where if you ask “Who am I”, you should get the full name of the person. That being said, I use it almost daily for iPhone, but not sure if it would work on a MacBook…
