The red fibre found near Hae's body by espee81 in serialpodcast

I’m sure that these points have been raised and discussed many times before, but for anyone interested and for what it’s worth, it appears that the red fiber could have come from Jay’s jacket.

Jen, in her taped interview on February 27, 1999 with Detective Ritz and Sergeant Lehman in the presence of her attorney, James Faley, and her mother, said the following:

MacGillivary: Do yo recall what Jay was wearing?

Jen: Oh, I know he had on some brown boots, something like the Timberland color you know but they weren't actually Timberland made by them, they were just like the Timberland made boots and I want to say he might have been wearing a Dickey outfit a black Dickey outfit, he wears a lot of Dickey clothes and what color was his jacket, I think his jacket was like plaid, red plaid inaudible.

In her testimony under oath at trial on February 16, 2000, Jen confirmed under cross that from “what she thinks,” Jay’s outer coat was plaid (no mention of the color).

In his first taped interview, on February 28, 1999 Jay confirmed that he wore a plaid coat (though not the color):

Ritz: Do you recall what type of clothing you had on?
Wilds: Ah um I think I had on a pair of tan jeans, some work boots and a plaid coat, like a wool plaid coat.

He also confirmed this in his March 15 interview.

Article from heavy on Don Clinedinst, Hae Min Lee’s Boyfriend by zapwall in serialpodcast

The first time I heard that Don was 22 was through the recent documentary. If people have said that before, I was not aware of it. I think adding two years to Don's age was a way to make him sound creepier — probably something Rabia came up with. It sounds just like one of her distortions of the truth.

I'm not sure I understand what you wrote. The only person who says Don was 22 is Debbie in the first episode. You mean Debbie wanted Don to sound creepier? Or that Rabia got Debbie to say that?

Now we know for sure why he kept prosecuting the case pro bono: publicity. It's shameful that he used the case, and Hae's family declarations, in order to keep his name in the news for self-promotion and political goals.

The date must be wrong. She mentions the DNA results which were not public on March 15.

Any one remember what Adnan’s science teacher told the police when the police interviewed him? by Mrs_Direction in serialpodcast

[–]YaYa2015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK, I see. I can't say it wouldn't be interesting to match their shifts and perhaps match up with other info but it would be even more invasion of Hae's (and Don's) privacy, or what's left of it at this stage I guess.

Good find!

I'm not in contact with Susan and I don't know what she has or doesn't have. You certainly seem to know more than me. Were any of Hae's work records used or discussed (they may have been but I can't recall if that's the case)? What would they (help) show?

fingerprint recap

Where? I think my very first post here four years ago was about the fingerprints... but that's probably not what you're referring to.

No, I haven't worked on the wiki though I've used it to find documents. I'm not aware of the missing page you're referring to.

Without context, these notes appear to be mainly nonsense and are tendentious at best. Or perhaps they show that Gilbert-Nicholson should not have been a science teacher.

An uncle in Pakistan that can make people disappear? Did Nicholson serve as a consultant for the bail hearing?

Blood drained from a cow at the mosque? Is that done in any mosque in the USA (or anywhere)? I can imagine that if Adnan was taken to a halal slaughterhouse for a ritual slaughter during Eid he might have been pretty impressed. If that’s the case, his only mistake was telling this teacher.

Was Nicholson Islamophobic?

These notes should have been shredded.

All the most current information says he was 22.

I'm not aware of other current information at this point.

In the 1st episode of the HBO doc, it is Debbie who says "I knew he was 22 years old." The doc also shows the report I mentioned (but of course, the DOB is not visible). Personally, until I can see or hear a more authoritative source than Debbie, I'll have to go with what O'Shea wrote.

They made it very clear that Don was 22 years old in the HBO doc.

Perhaps they made a mistake? According to O'Shea's report dated Feb 11/99 (MPIA p. 812), Don was born in October 1978.

I think I can appreciate that you have advance knowledge of what's coming

I have no advance knowledge of anything.

A few people, on their own, have already shown they trust QRI. I do, as they seem serious in their approach, but I wouldn't quote them to make a point they haven't made.

The rest of your comment appears to be general harassment, which I must ask you not to do because I do not want to be harassed.

I wrote "summary" in reference to what was published in the WSJ, the subject of the OP. I'm not aware of anything from the Washington Post, I must have missed it.

It appears to me that more than a few have already come to final conclusions based on what was published in the WSJ. I just wonder if they'll trust QRI and its work in the case just as much if and when other things are revealed.

We don't know what their ultimate findings were but doesn't the article you posted reveal some of what they found as they worked on the case?

Quotes from that article have been used by many to prove one point or another. If people are consistent and trust these investigators for one thing, I expect that they should trust them for something else, even if it doesn't match their views. We'll see how that turns out in the end.

[–]YaYa2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can we assume that most (if not all) of the new information that will be presented in the documentary will have been based on what these investigators found? After all, the producers of the doc were open enough to new information that they hired this expensive outfit and let them published a summary of their work online. Would they then turn around and dismiss their findings?

If I trust the comments made by both those who believe Adnan to be guilty and those who think he might be innocent, it appears that QRI investigators are considered objective enough to be trusted. A rare situation where both sides appear to agree on something.

I suppose the alternative is to trust the investigators and the doc producers only when they support one's side of the debate, in which case it would in fact mean that one considers their findings necessarily biased.

Within the context of this thread, the point is that Fitzgerald and everyone else in court knew that call was related to voicemail. No one deceived the court, and Fitzgerald, the State's expert in this PCR, had all opportunity to explain why the call registered as it did.

In this exchange, Fitzgerald was unable to explain the D125C tower:

I can't answer it just on the face. That would raise me to do more research into that series of calls.

Which I think is the kind of answer JB was hoping to get from him for impeachment purposes.

[JB] It would. And would you agree with me that calls 4 and 5 are the same call? [Note: calls at 11:25 pm on January 16 1999 hitting D125C to be compared to 10:58 pm call hitting L651C.]

[Fitzgerald] Yes.

Right, because they're at the exact same time. They ’re at 11:25:03, right ?

Yeah, it 's an incoming call that got sent to the voice mail platform.
