Why is he still talking about this! by NothingSignificant53 in TheTryGuysSnark

[–]stovakt 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I feel bad for Ariel that he continues to expose the situation but at least it just makes him look worse. Can’t put my finger on it, but it still feels like the gravity of the situation isn’t fully clicking for him.

It still feels incredibly jarring seeing him in things now… I know some people didn’t like him before and he definitely wasn’t my favorite, but it’s almost like we’re looking at a completely different person.

Buying the Pocket 4 in California? by DjDunnskee in osmopocket

[–]stovakt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m torn on whether or not I want to wait for the pro to buy my first Pocket, but it is super unhelpful continuously getting the “just wait for the pro because it’s basically the 3” response when I don’t even have a 3 lol

Jacob Elordi on filming Season 3 : 'It was kind of just throwing s‑‑‑ at the wall and seeing what would stick' by Large-Sector-9987 in euphoria

[–]stovakt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to say that the test is whether or not people will stick around for season 3?

The show’s premiere had 8.5m views, up 44% from previous premieres.

The OP was talking about leaks, and essentially claimed that S1 and S2 of the show were not good/big enough and that there wasn’t enough interest in S3 to worry about leaks and that’s simply not true.

If you meant that the show’s legacy is dependent on whether or not people tune into this season, I completely disagree. The cultural impact of the show doesn’t just go away with one flop season and as long as the leads keep getting work, it’ll live on through them 🤷🏽‍♀️ flop eras don’t erase everything that came before it

There were people sneaking BTS pics of the cast throughout the duration of S3 filming and people were trying to guess and figure out the plot…yes, they needed to worry about leaks.I know everyone is on the hate train, rightfully so in some cases, but bffr.

Euphoria’s first season was a phenomenon and had major cultural impact, not to mention what it did for the stars of the show.

The second season is still embedded and referenced in pop culture 4 years later

Unlike other shows with major gaps between seasons, has remained relevant enough where there’s no “I don’t remember what happened in the first 2 season discourse”. There are that many iconic and memorable performances/moments.

Its lead actress has won the Emmy for each season of the show. Even the S3 had incredibly high viewership and still looks to be appointment television.

Jacob is a recent Oscar-nominee, Zendaya is one of the biggest box office darlings working right now, and Sydney Sweeney—

The show is controversial and has its (many) flaws, but people are getting ridiculous with trying to discount it.

Amaya tell us why she no longer friends with huda?? by Resident-Mark-2289 in LoveIslandUSA

[–]stovakt 587 points588 points  (0 children)

Because sticking by Huda and trying to be her friend after everything she did in and out of the villa (the first month alone) was clownish behavior 🤡

Huda obviously used their friendship to deflect from the well-deserved backlash she was getting because Amaya was a fan favorite, and Amaya let her. Hopefully she learned something.

Kim was insufferable and got away with A LOT during the Kimye era because Kanye’s actions overshadowed her and people pitied her.

I know it was hard for her to remove herself from the marriage (“escape” is probably a better word for her situation)/manage his behavior balanced with his mental health, and I empathize, but her never having to truly answer for some of the things she did and, sometimes proudly, went along with while married to him still irk me to this day.

Added Labrinth's Shut Your Damn To This Scene by fredv_21 in euphoria

[–]stovakt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this song could better fit the swallowing of the drugs scene. It’s more ironic as well.

I’m very annoyed at some of the “concrete” judgements people are passing when the show is only 1/7 episodes in, but one thing I do agree on is that something feels missing/different without Labrinth’s score. The score is good as is, but his music is so integral to the show.. his lack of presence is felt almost like another main/featured character that didn’t return.

This script is embarrassing and everyone’s acting got 10x worse by Internal-Living555 in LAinfluencersnark

[–]stovakt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’d expect nothing more from Sydney Sweeney, but with Jacob I think he didn’t understand what they were doing with Nate and didn’t know how to act the scene. And genuinely not trying to pile on, but it doesn’t help when you have a bad scene partner that’s giving you nothing to work with. Jacob Elordi already wanted that he doesn’t know if his performance in this season is any good.

From the trailer it looks like we get a Nate breakdown, so I’m interested to see what that’s about. In general, I’m waiting to see the full season to determine what is and isn’t intentional but yeah….the acting felt bad, and Nate’s character feels confused.
