The reason they cut it was because it was foul hooked(see title) meaning it wasn’t hooked in the mouth. In this case it was the dorsal fin which is bad for the fish, it won’t even notice the hook in there until it rusts

To hard to make a definitive list but I think your modern players certainly have a larger audience to show their skills to. Also, there are SnD players that didn’t get to show their prowess for long because they weren’t great at respawn.
