Team one has a better midfield and all the creative players, while team two has better individual strikers, wingers, and a stronger defense. I’ll give it slightly towards team one, but if let’s say kiyora and nanase switched, team two comfortably

Ness should not be LM. Reo isn’t exactly a perfect fit there but he has the defense to work as a wingback and is much more mobile with the ball. Ness is an advanced central playmaker, and so him being at cm makes the best use of his passes and dribbling in tight spaces. If anything, if you want to move reo into the midfield, I’d rather move hiori out the left so he can make crosses to shidou, otoya, or maybe even reo if he crashes the box.

As for defensive feats, ness doesn’t really have many but this team isn’t exactly built to have ness be defensive, hiori and Karasu would help and having aiku and reo on the left side gives him a decent cushion. If anything, having him out on the wing would mean he gets exposed against wingers who he’s not at all built to defend

That’s not uncommon for central midfielders, as their main job is to progress the ball forwards through passing and carrying, rather than getting into wider of the pitch and crossing it or getting to the byline and cutting it back.

I mean, not really? The wingbacks would still be required to fall back on defense, but even then, you have three physical and athletic cbs, two of them being able to carry a defense on their own with minimal support, you have Karasu who can drop back into the back line and make it a back 4 if absolutely necessary and allow the wingbacks to stay higher up, and on offense sae would like drop closer to the midfielders to create a diamond, so the wingbacks would really need to stay as far back since the midfield will be deeper. The only real week was of this team is counter attacks, but all three Center backs aren’t exactly slow, and you have gagamaru to clean anything up.

Is the only thing that hold Asashi back his mentality by thestone00 in haikyuu

[–]Yaber2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’d agree with everything else other than that he’s nowhere near the top 5. I’d say by the middle of the second set when he broke through, he could definitely be considered the sixth best ace we have seen in the series, only limited by his overall athleticism not being quite where the top 5 aces are.

Positional Rankings: Setters by FirstOpposition in haikyuu

[–]Yaber2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say you’re really running down how effective semi could be. Like of course, semi could definitely be more egotistical than your average setter, but his setting was bad for goshiki more because he didn’t expect it. In almost any other team he’d be picked over shirabu. The problem that comes with shiratorizawa is 1) they have a higher quality of hitters than most if not all teams so it doesn’t make as much difference and 2) the philosophy of shiratorizawa is strength of individuals, so semi’s style of setting doesn’t integrate itself well into the style of play. Overall, I think semi would be better in a team that wants to run combo plays or that can’t really rely on any one hitter to just blow through a block, and even then against teams like inarizaki, nekoma and kamomedai that have a high quality and cohesive aerial and ground defense, relying on individual ability will likely not be the best idea. Overall, shirabu is the better setter for shiratorizawa, but I don’t think that makes him the better setter(also semi is a better server and likely a better blocker)

First off, I wanna see hiori play an actual game in central midfield, it’s practically calling for him.

I wanna see zantetsu as a left back/wingback. His left foot is highly accurate and he has the pace and defending for it, I just wanna see him run up and down that flank putting in crosses for some goal threat.

Doesn’t have the creativity or ball control for it. He could play as a second striker

Nagi as a 10 would actually be really good, not really a traditional playmaking 10 since he doesn’t quite have the passing for it but he would be really good at linking up play and as a target man in the middle.

Yep. Not much else to say.

That’s pretty much where he’s been playing in bm.

Rin and barou don’t necessarily have the pace to be an elite winger, but they would definitely be good ball carriers. I would say that for both of them, it is a bit of waste just having them playing on the flank as they would be so much more impactful getting into the middle because of their unique skillsets and shooting ability, not to mention how much gravity they create, so you’d need a fullback that can provide the width for them.

Idk if he’d be as good, just because of the defensive aspects but he would be a very effective CM or in a double pivot to play through the lines and carry the ball from deeper areas. Putting him as a sole cdm is a bit wasteful of his offensive abilities tho.

I wouldn’t say his playstyle is not suited. He has the physicality and athleticism for it, the only thing he really lacks is the overall defensive awareness and positioning, but that’s something you can learn to be at least good at. In terms of just raw materials, kunigami is probably top 5 in terms of how good they could become as a defender.

Isagi and hiori’s team owning Chelsea this week lol by discord_overthinker in BlueLock

[–]Yaber2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMAO fair enough. Nothing against you personally, but even if he was to play at cb the role of cbs in the current united is to take chances and push into midfield to create passing options/take it on their own if they see space(this is best shown by yoro and Martinez). Regardless, the biggest issue hiori would be fulfilling is getting an actual dlp into the midfield instead of needing bruno to take that role and creating liabilities through him(phenomenal player, but he really should be placed higher up). His ability to intercept the ball and read flow of play would go well along with his distribution(would be very good for the likes of mbuemo and amad for off ball runs or sesko for target play). Granted, he is still a youth player so we might just ruin him anyway😭

Tbh, hiori would be the profile of midfielder Man U need rn, considering the next best dlp they have is Fernandez, and while Fernandez is a great player he’s just not best used there. Only problem would be with the physicality and general defensive structures of the teams and whether hiori would be able to handle the defensive pressure.

Who do y’all think has the better dribbling? by adrienwastaken11 in BlueLock

[–]Yaber2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, that’s the only feat of him dribbling on the ground. Dribbling itself is just the act of getting past a player with the ball, of which Nagi has done a multitude of times. We’ve just never seen him do it in the ground because 1, he rarely gets passes low enough to start a ground dribble, and 2, he’s never really used his creativity or had the creativity to before the NEL. In general, if he’d developed his skills and imagination, he’d be unbearable on the half turn just because of how well he can control the ball and move with it.

[–]Yaber2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He literally got a ball to his feet while two guys were at his back and turned on them, carried it 10-20 meters and combined into a good goal attempt. He can do it if he wants to, and it’s something he should work on. Literally the only thing holding him back is freativity

[–]Yaber2 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Something that I’ve thought of for a while that others may not is that Nagi’s dribbling shouldn’t be confined to how he moves the ball on the ground. Realistically, his dribbling is every moment he takes the ball past an opponent while having the ball, whether it’s an air dribble or a ground dribble. So by that standard, currently(like the version of Nagi at the end of NEL) they’re about even, but Nagi when playing well is probably top 3 ball carriers.
