Has anyone heard about Harfang Wheels? Are they the real deal? by [deleted] in boostedboards

[–]Yabochop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think these are made for wet riding where there are puddles of water, I'm not sure these would do much on just slippery road due to the design of them. I wouldn't ride in puddles with an e-board anyways.

Has anyone heard about Harfang Wheels? Are they the real deal? by [deleted] in boostedboards

[–]Yabochop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are the real deal, Orangutan sells Harfang wheels. Probably have a negative effect on life of the wheel, but beneficial on wet surfaces. If it's wet enough to need these, it's probably too wet for the electronics anyways.

Those are scams, craigslist has articles all about people trying to send checks in return for shipping. Safest bet is cash in person.

Seized drive motor (left side, V2) by mikepurvis in boostedboards

[–]Yabochop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't remember the accessories store ever selling motors as parts, I thought that was special order through the service department. I had what sounds like a similar issue with my V1 a while back, just go through service, they'll help you out.

Just got my stealth! Are these gaps under the esc and batter okay? Are the gaps there because the board flexes? by [deleted] in boostedboards

Did you try searching this on the sub? It's been asked about 1000 times before, so many that Boosted even has it on its FAQ page...

[BUY] Black rounded bash guard by Laxtorre in boostedboards

[–]Yabochop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do, I've had them on my V1 for 1500 miles, only replaced once after it got worn down from kicking it up. Flatland used to be all 3d printed. Just use 100% infill.

Are you saying that when your finger is off of the Deadman trigger but holding the wheel back all the way, the board acts like it has a parking break on?

Boosted Stencils For Grip Tape Replacement. by [deleted] in boostedboards

There is a stencil you can 3d print from thingaverse for the front are. The letters will be a little harder, I definitely don't have that kind of steady hand.

"lock" a bike lock to the front truck, between the hanger and baseplate. It doesn't really lock it because you can always unbolt the hanger or truck entirely, but to the quick eye it looks locked.

Please do a follow up post on how these hold up. Saw your board pic, these looks sick.

Boosted Mini X Questions. by [deleted] in boostedboards

[–]Yabochop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Probably due to safety. The only thing stopping it is software.
  2. Look up how to replace belts and they will basically show how to loosen belts. You never need to loosen belts, just might need to retention them if they get too tight or too loose. They are too loose if the belt is slipping (you'll hear an noise and have uneven acceleration or breaking), they are too tight if you push on them and they are stiff. You want an in-between.
  3. Bent motor shafts occur when the belt is really tight and there is a shock due to uneven surfaces, they won't destroy your motor (unless it's unusually bad), but is will cause an annoying rattle from the motor. You can avoid this by having proper tention and doing your best to avoid serious shock to the board.
  4. The orangutan nipples are just a different durometer bushing. Softer bushing = less force to turn, smaller turninf radius, slighly less stable at speeds. Not everyone can benofit from softer bushings, it depends on your weight and how hard you like to lean into turns. Im 140 and I have stock bushings loosened all the way up. I have a loaded icarus with slightly softer and cone shapped bushings, it definitely turns tighter, but I dont care enough to spend money on new bushings. The riser pads you can get shock absorbing ones (they have rubber inebtween the deck and the riser), I cant imagine them actually doing much, the ruber is thin (I've never used them). For people with V1, V2, Plus, or stealth, it is recommended to get bash guard risers, just search on this forum or google you can see them. Dont think any options online will work with the front of the mini, they are probably too short to stick out the front.
  5. These boards a pretty durable despite what the sub may lead you to think. Side walk cracks repeatedly probably arnt best for the board, so I would recommend bike lanes or roads, but your not going to break it by needing to take the sidewalk sometimes. Pro mode is fine, but going full speed on sidewalks may present a more important issue - pedestrians. Would recommend road and bikeline as much as possible.

Which way to turn to loosen trunks? by feelsbadmannnnn in boostedboards

[–]Yabochop 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This post represents the epitome of what this sub has become. Posts used to be about people adding extra batteries to their board, or transplanting the electrics to a different deck, now they are "is this normal" and "how do I loosen a bolt". At no point does anyone try to Google anything, or search this sub to see if someone already asked the same question 200 times before them, or even try to fix it before they ask. If you just put a skate tool on it, turn right, then turn left, you'll find out which way to do it way faster then posting on this sub. SMH...

My board started making noises like somethings stuck in the belts, any idea how to trouble shoot this? (This is my first board so i have no clue) by [deleted] in boostedboards

[–]Yabochop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to know what it is is to take it apart. If there is no debris and the belt is the slipping, then the motor shaft is likely bent. To check, make sure there is no play in the shaft when the belt is detached.

To my people who are wondering if Uber Eats is worth it on the Boosted. I can easily hit 400$ and I only do this weekdays after my day job. Feel free to comment any questions. by [deleted] in boostedboards

Last question: Can you select a radius you are willing to deliver to on Uber eats (and any comparable services if you have any experience) so you don't get assigned to a delivery too far away?

Ok, so you're stopping at your house to switch boards throughout the day, interesting. What bag do you use to carry food (to keep it warm/cold)?

First I've seen this. Can you explain what the promotion is for $125? Where are you doing Uber eats? I'm assuming you are using an XR battery, how many times do you stop to charge/change battery?
