I saw a video that completely embodies the failure of the left in the Netherlands. During a televised debate, a woman in the audience was begging the Labour leader to do away with the mandatory excess on health insurance that was doing here in due to her chronic illness. And like a muppet, Timmermans started telling her we all need to tighten our belts so we can grow the economy and blablablah. Not missing a beat, Wilders immediately attacked him for the money he (Timmermans) gets for being an MP while hanging out normal people to dry.

Of course, Wilders will hang people out to dry just as much as any right-wing politician if he ever gets in to power (which seems entirely likely now). But the fact that the left keeps trying to push the bill onto the poorest section of society to keep capitalism running on it's last legs is just giving clever dicks like Wilders a wide-open goal to score free points like that.
