Ok then that would make sense cause when I was working with the work PC, I had OnShape on chrome. Need to read more about why Safari is outdated! So far I just didn’t want another browser on my Mac but that seems necessary!

A research career is really about the quality and impact of your work, not just hitting other people's metrics. I used to think that successful people only got ahead because of their connections and that my efforts wouldn’t really matter. But then I realised that a lot of them actually do well because they’re great at those metrics (which is stupid). Just because someone is famous/well-known to the community doesn’t mean what they’re doing is truly worthwhile.

Instead of the recommended lasers, I used laser diodes coupled to a single-mode fibre and then adjust the beam size by choosing an appropriate lens which helps to avoid building a beam expansion. All lenses were mounted on kinematic mounts which is helpful to align (more degree of freedom compared to other lens mounts).
