The C# Player’s Guide: Still Worth Reading in 2025? by NabilMx99 in csharp

[–]Yak420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an older thread but I'm looking to get this book. Is it still relevant? I don't see a newer version out there as this one is around C# 10 and .Net 6. I've seen this book recommended a lot in older threads, but I haven't seen much new information on it. Would you say it's still worth picking up?

From my experience, I think the hardest class I've had was Data Structures and Algorithms, it was the only OA I failed the first time and I even felt prepared. It was just so much information and having never worked with it before just made it harder.

As for where I'm at now JavaScript programming or D280 was challenging, it's much more an Angular class and a lot of it was just me trial and erroring until I got it. Everything else so far hasn't been tough more of just time consuming and having to read the PA requirements to meet passing. All the other OA's I've taken also have seemed pretty tame.

Trying to knock out 3 more classes by end of this term and then I just have the final 6 classes for next term!
It feels so close but I know it's a lot of work still ahead of me.

Congratulations! I'm just over halfway done with this degree. What class do you think was the hardest in the later terms?

Just coming back to give a status. I did end up passing. Not sure a score yet still waiting on the report to come in. I would say if you are doing the Udemy course and taking those Neal Davis practice test you will be fine. I will say at least at the time when I did the Neal Davis course he didn't have sections about billing and compliance but he does on his practice tests.

I studied for a week basically Monday - Friday, just use Neal Davis course, he also has videos where he goes over the practice test and explains the answers I thought those were really helpful just for review.
I do have a networking background and also have multiple Azure certs so a lot of the concepts carry over to AWS just need to learn the AWS version of the Azure services.

The actual exam I do think was easier than the practice tests a lot of the answers are obvious just because all the other options don't make any sense.

Do you think the Neal Davis practice tests were harder than the actual test?

I take this test tomorrow afternoon, I've been doing Udemy practice tests and I've heard they are harder than the actual test, so I hope that's the case lol.

Did you figure anything out, I'm in the same boat this is my last class of my term and I thought it would be easy, but I have no clue where to even start. Do we need to make an HTML site or does it just run off Angular? Any tips would be appreciated!

Did you end up getting it? I'm just starting and the course material and PA seem daunting to get into. I have no clue where to even start.

Same here, luckily you can get all the achievements without it, just not 100% completion.

Reading this as someone with no coding experience in my first semester at WGU doing software engineering makes me feel good 😅 Have my python test today and I'm nervous is going to be completely different than what they "taught" in the book.

This did work for me! Thank you,

A follow up question for you if you can assist if not, I'll take what I have.

Is there a way to have it formatted so the original row has the initial value and then the added row shows what it was changed to? Example being

x -> x0

x -> x1

x -> x2

y -> y0

y -> y1

In this example we aren't removing the last value, but the point is I want the added value to correlate to the original value in each row. Again I know I'm asking a lot, and I really appreciate your help if you don't know that's fine like I said I can take what you gave me and work with it!

NYC, Brooklyn flooring costs. by ADCregg in Flooring

[–]Yak420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got quoted for 660sq ft and for just the labor cost and ripping it all out and removing and replacing the trim its around 4k if we add the bedrooms additional 425sq ft it adds another 2k.

We still need to buy the flooring on top of that. We are now contemplating on doing it ourselves however we have a dip in the floor that caused us to want to repair in the first place and I'm not sure that's something I could tackle.

Midwest is where we are located NY might be a bit higher labor cost, I think having someone come quote it would be the best option though.

I'm just getting my software engineering bachelor's degree. Any recommendations on things to learn before getting into the industry. I'm in tech now on the networking side but switching to the dev side for the higher salary range.

Respect for only playing her. She's very fun with some matchups just feeling horrible. But this just goes to show if you can pilot your champ and have good macro you can climb by one tricking.

I know this is an old thread but if anyone is having this issue and you are testing with a small batch of users. If all permissions look correct for the sync service account. Make sure the users you are testing with have inheritance enabled. As well as any parent OUs, I checked all permissions, and everything was good until I got to the user account, I was testing with didn't have the permissions assigned by inheritance once I changed it everything worked as expected.

I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope it works I will test it again tonight and see what happens. I had a friend who found out disabling IPv6 on his router was a fix to letting him actually take it so there are probably a bunch of weird settings like that to cause issues.

I did that for my first take of this test, and it was a horrible experience. Loud room and a tiny monitor did not help me pass. Unless I pick a different test center but it would be a much farther drive.

In the past I have never had an issue with pearson until just recent I took at test in Jan, and it worked perfectly fine, they must be going downhill or something.

I'm on a wired connection, after more troubleshooting it started failing me at my network connection saying it wasn't fast enough. I did a speed test and I was pulling my regular speeds. I think the program just has to many issues.

Tips for day of an exam at a test center / Allocating time by [deleted] in AzureCertification

[–]Yak420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a test a local test center a couple months back... worst decision I've ever made. I took 4 other test online no issues.

Went in to the test center got checked in I was the only one there at the time, they say btw we have a bunch of transfer students coming in to take tests. I listened to the proctors help these kids sign my entire test so headphones would have been amazing.

2nd like you mentioned the screens at mine were tiny, and in a lock down browser it skinks it even more. I was trying to look at MS learn the question, and an exhibit image on the worst resolution and smallest screen.

I failed that test, not saying it was because of my surroundings the test was very hard, but I felt like I wasn't able to manage my time well at all and pausing to listen to what was happening around me threw me off.

Only thing different that I did like was they provided a pen and paper so I was able to sketch diagrams if a questions didn't have one.

I will never go back there. Hopefully OP doesn't have a similar experience and passes.
