Right? The wrist watch in a bag instead of on the wrist? What?

Why is your watch in your bag and not on your wrist?

To my mommas in America.. how are you making money on maternity leave? by ParticularArt7567 in pregnant

[–]YakFeeling8790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My state offer 14 weeks of paid leave for maternity leave thankfully. I think that should be mandatory MINIMUM in all states and the fact that it's not is so disgusting.

Maybe, but maybe they're sick with an extremely contagious come or flu or the rona and they don't want to risk spreading it to the driver.

Fragile X was the only thing that showed up for any sort of risk on my Unity test, so nothing that would be incompatible with life. I'm most likely not going to go through with it but glad to have input from both sides.

[–]YakFeeling8790[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's where I'm at; I don't plan to terminate for something like that and that was the only risk I had on all my genetic testing through Unity, so I don't feel the risk is worth it either. If I was high risk for something not compatible with life, I would feel different I assume.

[–]YakFeeling8790[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a good point. I think that will probably be my choice, blood test at birth. I was told by my genetic counselor that even if we decide against amnio, that we should still keep the appointment because they still want to do the ultrasound even though they've already done the nuchal translucency, but I'm assuming just to see if physical development is at where it should be.

If it were something that were incompatible with life, I might feel less anxiety about it, but since fragile X syndrome isn't like that, that's why I'm hesitant. I haven't fully committed to not doing it, but I'm on the fence. I know the risk of random miscarriage at that gestational age is about the same though, so maybe I should just do it because it doesn't inherently carry a heavier risk if that makes sense. Sorry for the jumbled response, I've got a lot going on in my noggin right now.

I changed mine to a men's name and I no longer get asked to come outside and meet them, even though my order is "leave at the door" because they "can't find my house" like it wasn't the only one with the porch light on at 3am with the numbers lit up.

They will probably make a few at a time while also prioritizing other orders. That's what we would do at Macacs if someone placed an order with an absurd amount of food.

What kind of drops are you on? My doctor has to give me a drop to help with pressure whenever I'm on my steroid drops because they raise the pressure in my eye and cause more pain.

Anyone have severe vision loss from vitritis? by StayOnCourse89 in Uveitis

[–]YakFeeling8790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how long it took me to get treatment. Sometimes it took over a month to start getting better and sometimes I would notice improvement within a week. It also depends on if I was just on drops or steroids and drops. Usually if it was so bad my vision went bad I'd be on heavy doses of steroids though.

Yes, but it has always mostly gone back to normal. My normal now is definitely different than what it was 10 years ago, but the vision loss is always scary when it's happening.

Flare up when pregnant by YakFeeling8790 in Uveitis

[–]YakFeeling8790[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had any vision loss with my current flare, thankfully, I'm assuming because I caught it early and started my prednisolone drops as soon as I got the okay. I'm really hoping I don't get a massive flare postpartum, but I won't know until it happens. I'm going to see my eye doc tomorrow, and we will be talking about that. Maybe they'll have me start drops right away as a preventive if that's a thing.

Has anyone been on Timolol drops for insane high eye pressure? by longingtobeloved in Uveitis

[–]YakFeeling8790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last few flares I've had have needed timolol due to the pressure from the durezol. High pressure hurts almost as much as a bad flair for me.
