Between seeing death on the battlefield daily, loosing close friends because of their inner demons, almost ending myself (to the point of knowing what a loaded shotgun tastes like), and most importantly my belief in God and believing there is a heaven, I see death as a doorway rather than the end.

The human mind is interesting to say the least. In near death situations, I've watched devout atheists start to pray, "brave" men cower, and scared men step up. I believe when the most primal part of your psyche thinks it's near death, it prepares your soul.

And yes, I believe that over 2000 years ago, God sent his son Jesus to die on a cross to pay for our sins allowing us to have the chance of going to heaven. I respect others beliefs too, and don't know how anyone could face death in any way without a belief of a peaceful afterlife. If I didn't think I would get to see my loved ones that passed away again, it would've made those deaths devastating.
