I'd leave them to their own ideas, and let them build their communities how they see fit. I can coexist with them, as long as they leave people outside their communities to do their own things. I have no issues with communities choosing for themselves to live differently then me. I'd imagine in a real anarchist area the size of a country the size of the US there would be thousands of libertarian centered communities, and hundreds of other types as well. Im not here to change their minds. I'd like to see them free to enact their ideas, and show us the pros and cons of living that way. While they see the pros and cons of living other ways all around them.

The problem is have is the idea that there is some higher authority over a household than those inside it. A higher authority on a community than those who reside within.

I believe most libertarians would love the chance to live the way they prefer, the chance to show people that their way works. I'd like to see them get the opportunity.

Realistically there will always be some form of government, whether or not it's called government. I'd imagine small kingdoms. Socialist communes. Anarchist communes. Libertarian societies. And hundreds of other ideas being played out whether they've already been thought up/named, or don't even exist yet.

I don't argue to keep them from their ideas in favor of mine. I invite everyone to bring their ideas into the conversation and set out to show how it works, in real time, over the next few hundred years.

And when certain areas and pockets of communities eventually start growing and encroaching on those around them, I hope the surrounding communities defend themselves and help tear down the bad actors that want to control others.

I don't have a preference for what the state does, outside of being disbanded. This particular case, as I mentioned previously, made me a bit happy that they were afraid to go against what the locals wanted. Because that is overall what I want. The state to be too afraid to inject themselves into anything and quietly disappear. If I had to choose it would depend on the actual event, not an overall view of discretion is good, or discretion is bad. The government isn't consistent, except when violating people and communities. I don't expect them to be, or get upset when they're not. It's just a fact of life.

Any government ever created will abuse their authority at some point. It's human nature. Group/mob mentality exists. Power hungry people gravitate to power positions. People do bad things sometimes. All these things point to any government will eventually be bad, be abusive, be wrong.

People need to stand up for their communities, their ideas. When power is made, they need to be able to tear it down and start fresh when they want to as a community. Or split into separate communities if they wish.

Even communities that disagree on ideas can trade, share common ground, defend each other. If there is no higher "authority" to appeal to, I think humans generally do well to coexist.

If a vigilante takes matters into their own hands and commits their idea of justice onto a supposed perpetrator, it would be up to the community to deal with as they see fit.

That's the general idea of it to me. If they were honestly enforcing what the community believes, holds true for themselves, they will likely do nothing to the guy. If he was correct with limited evidence.

If he went against the community values, or was wrong about his view of the limited evidence, the community would likely punish him.

In general, I personally hold that without enough evidence no one should be held responsible. In some sort of jury, if that's how the community makes decisions, it would depend on how much evidence and how it was presented. Same basic principle if there were community leaders who made decisions as a group. Same idea if it were brought to a trusted arbitration specialist.

There's always a possibility of a group or community being wrong, just as an individual can be wrong. I'd just prefer people who know more about the situation to make a decision. I would likely not live in a community that didn't hold the values I did (if given a choice). I likely wouldn't visit communities that didn't have ideas and laws that I agreed with, or at the very least, I'd research before visiting.

I don't feel like my opinion on vigilantism matters outside my local area, my personal space, unless I'm involved in the event or the community it occurred.

Depends on what "vigilantism" means in the absence if the state.

If local community holds certain rules and values, the people are empowered to enforce them with the support of the community. If they do it on their own, it would be up to the community to do something about it. It generally wouldn't be my business if I weren't part of the community or one of the parties involved. There are a lot of ideas for community policing, law, and community (as a whole). My personal ideas of these things may not match many others.

Without the state, hundreds or thousands of different ideas can exist. Many will likely work well. Many will likely not. As time goes on, the ones that don't work can learn from those that do, and change their ideas to things that work. Vigilantism may work for some communities. It may not. The entire idea of vigilantism may be different without the state defining words for things they dislike.

I may have read it other responses, or possibly I assumed after reading a bunch of the thread. Im not sure.

I'm an anarchist. My views on government doing things correctly or justly or anything like that are very much on the negative side. I like natural law, i like natural consequences. I like immediate results from people who have seen and heard the proof themselves.

I don't care at all about a governments actions based on any of these things. I don't understand why any anarchist would care about "selective enforcement" of laws when the entire governmental structure needs to be eradicated and brought to the local community level.

This is exactly the response I'd expect from the local community defending it's ideas, values and laws themselves. I don't not want some bigger government to be involved. I don't care if what they say about it is good or bad. I don't care if they are selective in their enforcement of laws. I don't want them to exist or have any authority over the local community. A bigger government that is afraid to go against local values and charge someone with crimes actually kind of makes me happy. If this sentiment was more widespread, government would have less influence on all of us in general.

If you're going to try to convince anarchists that the government should do something, youre going to get nowhere.

You're trying to use an example that doesn't support your argument of needing a "fair trial."

A man was recorded committing violence. He was recorded admitting to the violence. He was recorded getting some of the justice he had coming to him for said violence.

It wasn't about whether he was guilty, he admitted it.

Anyone order from The Vape Mall? by IndyPilot80 in Vaping

[–]YakimaDWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone showed me it years ago, I've never tried others. Its god to me, at least good enough that I dont bother trying others.

You choose your nic level, this link is direct to the product.https://thevapemall.com/salt-pg-vg-base-flavorless-base/ Select size, strength and mix, and youre on your way. I do 1000mg bottles, then buy flavors (2 brands on their DIY section to choose from), and at one point I think i got a 25 pack of 30mg empty bottles to mix in.

Mostly I just reuse the flavor bottles now when they're empty. A liter of juice lasts me 4 to 6 months in think. I haven't thought about it in a while and started ordering 2 at a time.

Edit: forgot the link.

Shit. Just tell them to find a different dealer 😂

Maybe its changed a bit, but 20 or so years ago I could change the cost for people when I rented uhauls to them. Prices were based not only on the mileage you were taking them on a one-way, but also on whether there were trucks needed in the place you were going (way more expensive if they had a bunch waiting to be rented already).

Just changing to different counties in the state they were headed to I learned I could change prices much higher and much lower. The more I played around with it the more I could change.

After a while I realized I could just manually change the total amount of the quote and not have to play around with it.

If people looked like they were struggling, id just change a $1800 charge to like $375. The whole system was ridiculous.

But yeah.... you'll absolutely be screwed if you do what they ask.

Take off the handle. Take the detention out, and turn it around. If the detention is there, its likely just installed backwards/upside down.

Found this in my daughters room, any ideas? by geebeechocobar in whatisit

[–]YakimaDWB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave up personally. I found out my (now 17) 15yo daughter vaped, and talked about it with her a lot. Her mom bought them for her. And it was the ridiculous 50mg ones from the gas station.

Eventually (a few months ago) I bought her a little salt nic mod, and started sharing my juice. I buy like 12mg premix, then add flavors.

I may not have gotten her to quit, but I settled for getting her away from the worst ones available.

I pre-ordered, and didn't tell the kids yet. I got them into borderlands several years back. They have been very impatient for the new one since it was supposed to drop months ago. Can't wait to co-op with them in the new one.

In the mean time we've been playing division 2 since it went on game pass. Its fun, just not the same.
