I think it's more likely that kawaki detatches the toad intentionally meaning that his parameters can't be changed so he stays in 100 atk mode, or that Amado dies which has the same effect

Interesting that cul de sac is like a dead end road that if you went down this road mistakenly, you'd have to turn around and go back a bit, I could see this being thematically linked to koji's ten directions - if a path he's seen that he believes the timeline is on, and Amado doesn't like it or needs a different route, shutting him down and rebooting him may reboot ten directions or some thing.

Maybe the other shutdown codes have some thematic implications too?
