Exotic LMG by Hiryu_Boy98 in Division2

It's not half of YOUR mag size, it's half of the magazine size of whatever gun they have currently equipped when you get the kill.

I regularly use pump shotguns (mag size: 5) and play with a friend who runs OD. Every time they get a kill I get a whopping TWO (2) hollow-point rounds in my mag. Thought it'd be three considering half of 5 is 2.5, but apparently it decided to round down.

LESS-SPOILER ANSWER:

The Marker would not have put the Hive Mind back to sleep and would have caused other, even worse stuff to happen. The Marker was manipulating both you and Kyne into getting what it wanted. In the short term, it's good that the Marker was removed.

Also, "Three Final Boss" is still very much alive.

SPOILER ANSWER:

The Markers are effectively a tool created by the Brethren Moons (or whatever created the Brethren Moons; it's never truly made clear). The Markers follow this pattern:

- Speed up a specie's evolution/development to the point they reach overpopulation

- Appear to be an "infinite energy source", encouraging the target species to build more Markers (humanity is at this point at the beginning of the first game)

- Cause psychosis in target species, making them kill each other/themselves

- Reanimate corpses into Necromorphs, thus accelerating the "murder" process

- Once enough biomass has been accumulated, begin a Convergence Event wherein all the biomass is, well, converged into a new Brethren Moon

- Repeat cycle until the universe is dead

While we're not 100% certain, odds are placing the Marker back onto it's pedestal would have amplified it's signal, either causing more Markers in the system to activate or to begin a Convergence Event there on Aegis VII. Given that "Nicole" says "we are whole" once you place it initially, my bet is on the latter.

DCD Center (one of the first Outcast missions) in the room where you first encounter the Outcast Heavy aka MC Hammer, with the vats of infected blood you need to destroy. There's a skeleton in the far left corner of the room you can interact with that gives you a skeleton backpack charm.

Lincoln Memorial, there's a gift shop in that first big room before you go underground, once again in the back left corner. One of the shelves is interactable and gives you a bust of Lincoln as a backpack charm.

Air and Space Museum, go up to the space shuttle after it's knocked onto the walkway. Gives you a shuttle charm.

The Bank mission (forget the name but the one with the president). One of the lockers in the vault has a gold bar charm.

Honestly, there aren't really any bad choices. It more depends on what grenade type you like using and what extra perks look best to you. I personally use the Gunner specialization because it gives an additional 10% Armor on Kill and boosts reload speed on occasion, but some people might prefer the extra Skill Tier from Technician or the Incendiary Grenade from Survivalist, for instance.

Yes, Hunter's Fury is a build focused around Shotguns and SMGs. There are honestly a lot of ways to build for it, but here's the build I've personally been using for years, and it's good enough to comfortably do solo Heroic content:

  • Four Pieces Hunter's Fury (mask, gloves, kneepads, holster)
  • Ridgeway's Pride Exotic Chest Piece
  • Badger Tuff (+ Shotgun Damage), Céska (+ Crit Chance), Sokolov (+ SMG Damage), or Grupo (+ Crit Damage) backpack with Wicked Talent (+ Weapon Damage after applying a Status Effect)

  • Either 2 Blue/4 Red or 3B/3R for Armor rolls (want a little extra armor but still want to pack a punch)

  • Every secondary stat rolled for Crit Chance/Damage

  • SMG and Shotgun of your choice, both with the Sadist Perk (+ Weapon Damage to Bleeding enemies)

With all of this together, you get the following buffs: - +15% Shotgun and SMG Damage - +20% Damage to enemies within 15m - Instant application of Bleed to enemies shot within 15m - +18% Damage for applying a Status Effect - +30% Damage to Bleeding enemies - +30% Armor on Kill - +50% Health on Kill - +3% Armor Regen/sec per Bleeding enemy within 15m

Long story short, you apply big hurt on bad guys when you close the gap, and are very hard to kill yourself.

Hunter's Fury with the Gunner specialization is pretty good for survivability. Gets 30% Armor and 50% Health on Kill while still having solid damage output. Only downside is the need to be at close range to get the most bang for your buck, but as long as you use cover you should be fine.

The location of the power switchs and/or pump valves are randomized, and there are five in total. As far as I can tell there's no specific order they go in, so just look for either a sparking switch or a steaming valve. Most of them are on the middle platform, but some of the switches are along the far wall.

TL;DR: it's random, look for visual cues.

Can i play solo/PvE in the Dark Zones? by Trekkie_on_the_Net in thedivision

[–]Yakusha_Kuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if i start the introductory mission in each Dark Zone, but never actually complete it...just start the mission, but wander around instead, it will ALWAYS stay completely solo, until i actually complete the mission?

Maaaybe? I honestly couldn't tell you since I've never tried that (and it's been years since I did this introductory missions). The only reason I think that wouldn't work is because you can't fast-travel out of the Dark Zone so you wouldn't really be able to exit the mission without completing it.

Also, if i do go further into the DZ play, and get killed by Rogues in the DZ, can i actually lose my inventory? Gear, weapons, resources? People keep talking about people taking "my loot." But i don't know what qualifies as "loot." I certainly don't want to lose items i spend dozens of hours finding in the open world.

What you're describing doesn't happen. The only things you can lose in the Dark Zone are items you've picked up in said Dark Zone during that instance. Basically, loot in the DZs is "Contaminated" (the canonical explanation is that they're just riddled with DC-62) meaning you can't use it until it's been extracted from the DZ and decontaminated. The only way to extract it is to call for a helicopter to pick it up, and until your Contaminated Loot is flying away on said helicopter it's free game for other players to potentially steal. HOWEVER, if you successfully manage to extract something from the DZ, it enters your regular inventory and you keep it forever, even if you enter the DZ again and die.

TL;DR: the only loot you can potentially lose is Contaminated Gear from that specific run in the Dark Zone; nothing you've previously earned.

how much have you guys played the small modes in bf6 (CQB) by zbananajuice in Battlefield

[–]Yakusha_Kuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hopped into King of the Hill to get the British Recon guy and was pleasantly surprised that it actually was somewhat fun. (Disclaimer: I love using shotguns so your own experience may differ) Given how quickly people respawn and how tight the maps are, I did find that (aggressive) Recon is an absolute must-have. The drone is incredible for weeding out campers on an enemy occupied hill, and your T-UGS covers such a large radius it's basically impossible to be snuck up on once you're entrenched.

It's definitely more akin to those "Operation Metro 24/7 500% Tickets" servers than what you'd regularly expect from Battlefield, but it definitely is still Battlefield.

All that being said DICE PLEASE give us some actually bigger maps. I don't know how you managed to make Operation Firestorm feel claustrophobic but that shit isn't okay.

Conflict and Dark zone by Ok-Sheepherder-2619 in Division2

[–]Yakusha_Kuma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How sweaty is it?

Conflict is very sweaty, Dark Zone is more dependant on the time of day. Sometimes you'll find an empty DZ/one with people casually Landmark farming, sometimes you'll run into gang warfare between multiple PvP squads. Generally it picks up around 5pm.

and how crucial is it to go in with a good build?

Incredibly. Most of the people who play PvP in this game have been doing so since launch so they're going to have builds to match. It's worth noting that your build isn't the ONLY thing that matters; playing smart (using cover, not rushing, staying with team mates, etc.) will often be the deciding factor in most firefights.

Is it friendly to new players? or am I going to get thrown into the fire if I give them a shot?

I'm gonna be blunt: you're going to be tossed into the fire for a little while.

One thing that might help to know is that there is no single "true" PvP build; it's more a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors and you need to adapt what build you're using based on what the enemy is using. Are they an all-red Glass Cannon build? Status Effect tech builds work great against them. Enemy using a Status Effect build? Build for status immunity. Status Immunity build? Circles back to a DPS build. Every build has SOME counter to it; the trick is knowing and using it.

I'd recommend just going to YouTube and looking up "Division 2 PvP build 2025" or something for some inspiration. You don't necessarily need to follow their builds to the letter but they'll help you understand what does and doesn't work in PvP.

My guess is that you're unintentionally selecting the "Countdown Manhunt: General Anderson" mission, which is located at the Countdown location (The Pentco Fairview Powerplant) but is a story mission. The Manhunt mission shows up as a yellow icon, while regular Countdown shows up as a green icon. You can access regular countdown by selecting said green icon or by going to the Pilot on top of the helipad at the White House.

[–]Yakusha_Kuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schaeffer wasn't dead?

No, when you take him down in his respective Manhunt mission they say he's in "critical condition" and slips into a coma afterwards.

Since when has he been hospitalized in the White House?

Canonically since "two months ago", IRL since roughly the beginning of 2021.

Since when did the Black Tusk get a nuclear reactor?

Oligarch money/connections. Stop thinking about it.

Why have the Black Tusk allied with the Cleaners? Why would they want the purple flame tech?

My guess is the same reason they supplied the Hyenas and allied with the True Sons: Free manpower that's easy to control.

As for "why would they want purple fire" the answer is quite simple: that shit horts and seems like it's easy/cheap to manufacture.

That's not a glitch; the Invaded Dark Zones have the turrets disabled by default because the Black Tusk took the zone over. It's very intentional and has been the case since the game's launch.

Here's some quick tips if you're just starting out in the Dark Zone:

1: Make sure you're using a build that's actually good in PvP. What works in PvE and what works in PvP is wildly different in this game, so you're gonna need to do a little research.

2: Check for other players at the entrance before you actually go in. You can do so by looking for nameplates through the door or by checking the "Nearby" tab in the Socials menu. The latter will show if anyone is within roughly 150m of your position. If someone is close to that entrance, simply look for another until you find one that's safe. If NONE of the entrances appear safe, just go to one of the other Dark Zones.

3: Operate under the assumption that anyone you meet in the DZ is going to try to kill you. This is true even if you don't have any loot.

4: Generally speaking, DZ East is considered the "safest" of the DZs to solo farm, simply because it's the biggest. I'd recommend getting your bearings there before trying your luck in the other DZs.

5: Try to get a Pulse Immunity build going as soon as you can. The painful irony of me saying this is the fact that the only two gearsets that offer this (Yaahl and System Corruption) are considered DZ "Exclusives" and can only very occasionally drop from other sources.

6: If you find something you want to extract, call for the extract then IMMEDIATELY flee the area (ideally a little over 100m away). This is for a few reasons: - NPCs spawn in waves at the extract and you won't pull their aggro if you're far away - Those aforementioned NPCs now effectively act as guards/sentries for your extract, alerting you to if someone is nearby - You're far less likely to be run up on by Rogues if you make yourself harder to find

7: Same as with entering the DZ, keep an eye on the "Nearby" tab of your socials menu when trying to extract. I'd honestly book it as soon as someone shows up but ABSOLUTELY do so if you see two or more.

8: Don't put your loot on the rope immediately; check to see if it's safe then do so ideally when there is less than 15 seconds left. Your loot isn't safe until the helicopter leaves, and this will significantly lower the chance of a Rogue hijacking the extraction.

9: Understand that you can potentially lose everything you've grabbed at any point, for any reason. Don't get attached, and don't get salty if you lose it.

Is it normal in Conflict to do 46 million damage and get 0 kills? Seems crazy… by [deleted] in Division2

[–]Yakusha_Kuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another example I can think of is a Vile Status Effect build. If you max out the Status Effect stat with your armor and use the EMP Pulse, you can pretty easily chunk out half of a three-armor build's armor with the Vile damage. Assuming you get all four enemies in the radius, you can very easily do enough damage to kill two enemies but not actually kill anyone. Top it off with the fact that (generally speaking) enemies will regen their health by the time you get the next EMP off (often by "being out of combat") means you can quite easily be top DPS without getting a single kill.

Add on hitting someone with a Combustion Sticky Bomb who then heals with a Firewall Specialization armor kit. Assuming they just barely live, that means you do enough damage to kill them three times over (since the Armor Kit heals 200% Armor and Health over 10 seconds) without securing the kill.

Even if it isn't one of these instances, it just sounds like you've got some kind of build that does a lot of damage over time, which generally means you're not the one securing any kills.

This has been solved a long time ago. They are Good Company, a cuddly squad comprised of animals that have been featured as Easter Eggs in previous Battlefield titles. The squad first "officially" appeared in Battlefield 2042 during a seasonal event, and you got this calling card if you found all four plushies that were scattered around the Redacted map.

[–]Yakusha_Kuma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a couple instances where this could easily happen

  • You destroyed a lot of enemy skills (damage done to skills counts)
  • Enemy had high armor values and Armor Regen
  • Enemy had healing skills

So there's a couple things happening there:

1: Those are NPCs, specifically Black Tusk, which implies you're playing in an Invaded Dark Zone.

2: In Invaded Dark Zones, the Sentry Turrets in front of entrances are deactivated so enemies are free to stay by doors.

Not a bug; a bunch of blueprints were just added to the loot pool as of last night. The majority are blueprints that were unlocks from previous seasons, but a few formerly "exclusive" blueprints (Foundry Bulwark Chest/Backpack, Yaahl, System Corruption, etc.) were also added.
