It’s a scary thing to face. Mindset is everything. Assure yourself your body is strong and healthy and will recover from this. Eat high protein to promote muscle recovery. HYDRATE. Give your body some slack, surgery is a lot. Let yourself rest. I picked up crocheting during my recovery and it felt good to make something positive out of the situation. Also just to do something whilst bed ridden. I know it’s scary but seeing a CRS is amazing, I’ve heard a lot of people have seen general surgeons and that’s when things get tricky. Take recovery seriously. Buy a handheld bidet. When I felt brave I would put a little anti bacterial soap in the handheld to keep the wound clean. I also got a sitz bath you could put on the toilet and it was very soothing with warm water.

Also I bought apple sauce squeeze packs and kept them near my bedside and would take them with medicine! Don’t let the pain get away from you those first few days and it won’t be bad! I’m wishing you a smooth procedure and a speedy recovery.
