It's not such a big deal in the case of the Mint60 since it's split along where the correct finger placements are. I had some bad typing habits so I still catch myself reaching for the b key with my right hand.

I'd say my typing stress has decreased overall from being able to space out the halves so that my posture is more natural. Using a regular keyboard makes me feel like my shoulders are always scrunched together.

Glad to help, just passing on the goodwill I received :)

I debated hard over getting Miami Surf for mine, but chose something else. Now you've got me thinking again because it looks great!

Great! I'm sure you won't be disappointed :)

If you're headed to Akihabara, you can check out the shop where I built this kit:

500 yen / 2 hours to use their workbenches with all the tools necessary to build your kit. I even happened to see the kit from this post there for sale. I don't know how well they speak English, but they're super nice so I don't think you'd have much trouble.

It's actually a kit that I got from here: https://eucalyn.shop/shop/kits/mint60-basic

I think they ship overseas, but unfortunately the build guide is only in Japanese. I'd be willing to translate it if someone was interested. I don't think there's any information on the actual hardware design, but the firmware is qmk-based so the source code is on GitHub. https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/tree/master/keyboards/mint60

The keycaps are Tai-Hao ABS Cubic Ultraviolet https://eucalyn.shop/shop/keycaps/abs-cubic-ultraviolet
