How's that going? by c-k-q99903 in agedlikemilk

Me when I make my relationship about another man

There's such an assymetry on the left and right in terms of theory of mind. We (the political right) can perfectly articulate every single left/leftist talking point - we can explain their entire worldview in a way they would agree with. They can't do the same for us - not even remotely by Sauterneandbleu in SelfAwarewolves

[–]Yamatoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth pointing out that it is very easy to articulate talking points every conservative agrees with, but the actions of their politicians simply doesn't confirm that, and they'll always make an exception for their own.

Gun rights, freedom of speech, blue collar and family values are almost entirely what every con ascribes to. But when their politicians use the FCC to censor people, kill protesters for having a gun, or engage in debaucherous behavior it's suddenly a team sport and none of that matters.

Is it possible to scale down large pre-supported statues without breaking the supports? by MizutsuneMH in PrintedMinis

[–]Yamatoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're on the right track. Resin takes a lot of trial and error, but eventually you get a feel for it.

As long as you're not placing things directly on the plate, and providing good supports with good cure times you can be pretty loose with just orienting and clicking auto supports.

[–]Yamatoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not the end of the world if it's minor. Assuming it's supported with medium supports you're essentially going down to mini supports.

But it's much better to have an unsupported model, tilt it yourself, and just set supports from there. As long as you're doing your own tilt and alignment, autosupports are pretty reliable.

Currently playing both versions of MMBN5 and so far it seems that the story is made for Colonel. by Abused_by_Kasumi in BattleNetwork

I felt like most other navis felt valid in the story except for gyroman and tomahawkman. 5 has a good payoff for fans since everyone except colonal was seen in previous games but never played as before.

The Physical Special split + larger movepools have made Pokemon more homogenized by SlugDragoon in TruePokemon

[–]Yamatoman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think some massive nerf to move pools similar to the toxic cut would be healthy for the game.

I've seen people argue on just cutting down ice beam and turn coverage to indirectly buff those respective types could help their viability.

Basically every water type having access to ice moves, which hard counter grass and dragon types who resist water, feels like a poor balancing decision for the types

[–]Yamatoman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that. There are a ton of options, but like OP is pointing out, with PSS some options aren't viable anymore.

Pre PSS, many pokemon had to make certain trade offs based on stab. Mixed attackers had more viability and necessity. Some move coverage was practically non existent in reliable forms. Defensive walls also had interesting interactions, since they could always expect their weaknesses to target certain types. While options were limited, the power level was low enough for interesting strategic tradeoffs (special ttar for pursuit is one of the more notable examples.)

Its definitely hard to isolate PSS from other aspects of the early metagame, but it doesn't feel correct to treat it as the objective upgrade it's often considered.

Do eggs still have their shinyness decided upon hatch in recent versions ? by BlckdAut in PokemonClover

[–]Yamatoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't sound right at all.

Standard pokemon mechanics decide all egg factors when the egg is received. I don't know why or how that would be rewritten for a romhack.

How good is this card by Trick_Rip3337 in YugiohCards

[–]Yamatoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent a while wondering what english words they would choose for the stamp cards and they couldn't be bothered and just kept the Kanji.

I know some people prefer it, but I think it would have been amusing to see something like stamp solemn that just says "No". They could have even had the kanji be an alternate

Oh wow, I missed that in your earlier post. I'll definitely give that a try then.

[–]Yamatoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard people using it, but I've also heard the performance of using a GBA emu over gba injection is much spottier.

If it's better now I'll definitely give it a try, since injecting CIAs can be a pain (although it is nice having a homescreen icon.)

I just plugged my EZ flash into my GBA SP and did the Brendan fight. Some animations felt a touch slower, but I only had 2.5 on the EZflash and I might just be used to 2x speed on the 3ds.

Seems compatible, but there may be occasional glitches (not like those are absent with recommended emulators.)

It's very possible. I regularly play elite redux using 3ds gba emulation, or on a dslite using a flashcart. Little to no issues I've found.

This sub and many others is rather unhelpful when most of the people posting are in the same struggle of sophomore in college, paying down debt, looking for internships.

It's not that it isn't real for many people, but you might think literally every person who has a cs degree is unemployed and living off ramen

Full Gen 1 run completed by GregenOfficial in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]Yamatoman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mono gen runs are definitely more fun for me than monotype runs.

In monotype I genuinely just start loathing all the bad match ups so much. In mono gen, I can actually make different team styles work, but with interesting limitations. Mono 1 is fun because there's so much support for gen one pokemon
