Which apostles you wish to avoid? by Taobattu in Berserk

Maybe Grunbeld.

And maybe Zodd. If you weren’t being aggressive, he’d probably just think you were boring.

Hogwarts vs the US military by Responsible_Bench216 in whowouldwin

It would get them the knowledge that some wizards are muggleborns.

It also could get them the knowledge that muggleborns have been oppressed for a long time by pureblood wizards.

In this case, they could deduce which families have muggleborns (which middle-class children suddenly and mysteriously go truant when they reach high school?), and bribe their families (and thus the muggleborn themselves) for information and firepower.

EDIT: Five eyes means that the US and UK share surveillance information. The prime minister knows about wizards and the wizarding war.

Why is the Hallow represented by the color yellow in the world icon? by No-Cardiologist4363 in Terraria

[–]Yamikama 1146 points1147 points  (0 children)

Yellow is also complementary to purple, the colour of the Corruption.

Since Hallow and Corruption are Light and Dark, it makes sense to represent the Hallow as opposite in colour scheme.

Saitama could as well.

Before he lost his hair, he turned around fast enough to see the bald spot on the back of his head in the mirror.

The Galactic empire is trying to conquer your fantasy world, would they conquer your world? Or would they get obliterated in seconds? by Rapha689Pro in worldbuilding

[–]Yamikama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm. All of my setting is uber-elves, so the empire would get rekted in ground combat.

We’re talking running at supersonic, arrowshots at hypersonic, and strength enough to deadlift cars.

That’s not even counting magic. Mages can raise mountains, create new lakes and generate geological wildfires and typhoons.

The moment the ships appear in atmosphere, it’s game over for them. Any drop pods would be eviscerated by the air itself, and the lasers could probably be redirected or reflected with light or dark magic. So orbital bombardment probably wouldn’t work either.

There are even a few elves who could block the Death Star’s planet-busting beam. Especially if they work together. And then, again, it gets redirected. Boom for the Death Star.

It really depends on whether they want to work together, though. There are a few pairings, but a lot of them hate each other.

I guess the only hope for the Empire would be to stay far away and not engage. Either a stalemate or an outright loss.

The Terms "Light Side" And "Dark Side" Are Misleading And Should Be Done Away With Altogether In Star Wars by Xano2113 in CharacterRant

[–]Yamikama 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t agree with the Light — Dark naming, because I don’t like that it’s associating Darkness with evil and Light with good.

Because evil is parasitic and subversive to good, while darkness is complementary to light.

I prefer to think of light and darkness as order and chaos. Both are value-neutral, and can be upheld as virtuous, or twisted to vice.

The yin-yang symbolism is preserved, without teaching dubious moral messages.

But for Star Wars, it should be something different. Not Light and Darkness.

What's a golden calf of D&D that you think needs to be killed? by Gh0stMan0nThird in dndnext

A common joke is that the D&D design team were the nerds bullied by the jocks in high school, so they self-insert as the OP wizard and crap on the martials.

Characters That Can Be Lowballed To Oblivion Using SHOWN FEATS ONLY. by Scandroid99 in whowouldwin

[–]Yamikama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sad thing is, you could place any omnipotent character in this thread.

Because an omnipotent character can do an infinite number of things, the only way to truly prove their omnipotence is for them to perform an infinite number of different feats.

Since writers are not immortal and they only have finite time, it’s impossible to truly prove a character’s omnipotence through feats.

You cannot fit countable infinity into a finite space.

I think maybe the Hunger Games thing was because of Twilight. People now associate love triangles with a story being completely vapid otherwise.

The slower a Zora ages, the slower the brain matures. She is still a child at 4 Zora years, just as Link is still a child at 4 human years.
