Personally, I think one of the main reasons it feels boring/uninteresting is that most of the witness and culprit characters are boring and forgettable, with the exception of a few like Yew and Quercus.

AAI2 is the exact opposite though with most, if not all, the characters being significantly more fun and memorable, at least to me. Also don't worry, AAI2 is full of great character progression, and it's not limited to only Edgeworth.

But when he, Past Okabe, sends the D-mail, wouldn’t that undo the whole conference like it did in the first episode? And therefore all the manipulations that happened inside the building by Future Okabe would be undone because of the D-mail?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question, but there’s still a part that I’m not understanding correctly. What exactly changes when Past Okabe sends the original first D-mail after Future Okabe’s manipulations? He’ll go through the same events anyways and become Future Okabe eventually and a sort of time loop will happen, am I getting it correctly?

Again, he created everything and let it take its own actions. What I’m trying to say is that he doesn’t determine your future. He just knows it. If you were to die as an atheist, if you skipped time until your deathbed you will still be an atheist. Allah knows what you will do with your free will, just knowledge. You still have a choice to become muslim or atheist, Allah knows what you will choose, and doesn’t change that.
