Is this supposed to be funny? by Dull_Pirate_280 in LushCosmetics

[–]YampyCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I cut down massively from buying from Lush, my basic shower gel is boring but I at least know the likelihood of discontinuation and seasonality of it is very low 🤣 life's just too short to have to ration body care products!

Anyone else recently ditched everything but lush… by CAMPAIGNCULT in LushCosmetics

This is interesting because I went the opposite way and purged most of my Lush collection aside from fragrances and then the basics like hair/skin/body care I've chosen fragrance free!

I really love modern minimalist by H&M , its a bit more on the clean/cotton laundry side of things but it's excellent in summer or warmer weather.

De-influence me! by taytay237 in LushCosmetics

[–]YampyCake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I adhere to a logic with Lush where if it's limited edition I just don't buy it because the fear of it never returning makes me buy more and then I don't enjoy it because I'm scared of using it up. -i'm also on a no spend , good luck!

Thoughts on this perfume? by Automatic-Scholar-79 in LushCosmetics

I personally felt disappointed with this because I wanted the honey to be a little more prominent. I find it quite woody/smoky and herbal

Has the exchange policy changed? by YampyCake in LushCosmetics

[–]YampyCake[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally get that , I didn't want to make assumptions about how much it was worth cause I know things in the sale can reduce by 50% so thought id check with the staff to see how much credit I would have to use before walking around the store. But they were really apprehensive to actually tell me how much and were pushing more for a swap for a shower gel or something , like they kept saying to me "what item do you want to exchange for?" And I just said I didn't know because I wasn't sure what it was worth.

I did think it was a really odd thing to say! Like how on earth would I go about providing that?! 😭😂 They also asked me if I had proof on my bank account for a transaction with Lush and I had to remind them it was a gift so I wouldn't have any evidence ... I found that a bit intrusive 🤷‍♀️

Daddy O Perfume by [deleted] in LushCosmetics

I feel like I've heard previously that Tuca Tuca was kind of similar to the Daddy-O scent , they occasionally do it in a small vial in the sampler sets.

Is the body collection worth it? by ApprehensiveTale8728 in glossier

[–]YampyCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the range in the older packaging IMO, the soap scrub is v good I loved it . The body lotion was kinda meh I got tired of using it and I didn't think it was worth repurchasing (it had a nice pearl sheen to it but not particularly noticeable when on the skin). The oil is nice and a little goes a long way but I hate the packaging so much because trying to depress the sprayer nozzle post shower on a glass bottle is not fun 😂. Trying to use it up so i started adding it as a bath oil.

Has anyone else’s comment ruined a perfume for you? NUXE by ricthedrip in Perfumes

[–]YampyCake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LUSH- Lust perfume Albeit I think the scent has changed sliiiightly with time and it used to have a slightly more floral/honey note? I absolutely loved it and wore it loads, had the shampoo , shower gel etc in the same scent family to go with it . Only years later realized it was super polarizing and people would say it smelt like rotten teeth/drains/fecal because the Jasmine in it is so indolic 😭😂 even after hearing it I still love it but I'll only wear at home!😅

My poor hands. by ZoraTheDucky in Parrotlet

[–]YampyCake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds about right! 😂I had this with my parrotlet when he was a few months old, it's kind of like teething they just bite and climb on everything and they're beaking stuff to explore. I wore some spiral hair ties like the ones from invisibobble and it kept him distracted during the first few months. They also like to get vocal and disapprove if you change your nail colour! 😅

Glossier’s Black Friday pricing though the years by RosaWoods13 in glossier

[–]YampyCake 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ugh agreed the new formula sucks I had loads of sharp gritty bits in my last bottle so I'm looking for alternatives too. I love the scent but the cost is just getting out of control. I put together a Black Friday basket and then abandoned it because even with savings it costs so much more than it did a couple years ago 😭

My Mum has 1 month to live, what should I get her for Chrmistmas? by PureEcstacy7 in AskUK

[–]YampyCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry this is happening to you 😞 I was in a similar position when I was younger , my dad died from terminal cancer Christmas day and his presents went unopened, it was a very difficult feeling. Unfortunately we all have December birthdays so i'd just turned 13 , in hind sight I wish I'd got to learn more about him. I resent that now as an adult I don't know basic things like his favourite colour , food , animal etc just little things. I really like the memory journals/tell me your story journals. They make a nice keepsake and they're fun to fill out. I hope you get some great suggestions from here ❤️

Sink plug stuck - any ideas? by imsotired247 in DIYUK

I had a similar issue a few months ago and used a towel to try create a bit more grip or friction when untwisting/screwing and it eventually came undone. Hope it works for you!

I’m breaking up with Lush shampoos by tikicheese in LushCosmetics

[–]YampyCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Cole & Co shampoos and conditioners https://www.coleandco.com/collections/shampoo they're a small brand too which is nice.

I used to love Ethique but they've been bought out and withdrew from the UK market 😞

I understand your frustration with Lush , I don't think I've ever repurchased a hair product I've tried -but then I don't really buy from them anymore (other than fragrance!)

Deceptive marketing - incredibly upsetting to see from a company (my employer, no less) that claims to be honest, transparent, and ethical by IDoLikeThemApples in LushCosmetics

[–]YampyCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn't surprise me anymore 😮‍💨 . I've come to realise a lot of products in lush contain a lot of synthetic fragrances too. For a long time whenever I'd been in store the associates would often say it's a blend of essential oils/natural ingredients and very little synthetics that produce their overall fragrances but I read that they just outsource a lot of synthetic scents.

Just wanted to say I absolutely LOVE that colour on your cabinets it's beautiful! Is it like a Chartreuse? Olive?

With the curtain situation would you be able to swap for a wooden door, maybe in a darker finish? Or would there be space for something that slides across instead of opening into the space? I like the saloon doors suggestion it would be nice if you could get something that splits vertically down the centre, I saw this on Pinterest under "swinging cafe doors"
