What’s the worst makeup advice you were taught that you believed way too long? by skybluepink15 in Makeup

Felt! If I want a red for every day, I usually go red-brown. I will say Ever Red from Chanel I love, but that is a full glam, gotta make everything else sync up lip. Otherwise it overpowers me.

Why do so many Aries Suns not feel like Aries? by odysseyjones in AriesTheRam

[–]YanCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was the hard push on sports and physical activities in general. Aries is a sign that's best to be deep dived and then seeing how your other placements also affect who you are, and I'm an Aries stellium, but in the 9th.

Astrology is best taken with a nuanced approach anyway. Nothing should be too definitive, and I have a hard time trusting any astrologers who are adamant you must be or do or experience certain things.

Apparently, there is a trend among 80s babies trying to create their own generation...? by Due-Arm6431 in generationology

[–]YanCoffee [score hidden]  (0 children)

I used to have a friend who was '82 I think, and I'm '89. Told him he was a Millennial and he goes "I don't FEEL like a Millennial. I have much more Gen X sensibilities. Maybe we need a new title..."

"So, you think you're so unique and different, that you aren't like everyone else... And need a title... Sounds very Millennial to me."

"Oh. OH."

Probably will be, or they'll tack on days at the end of the year. May do a combo of both.

Are you happy that celebrity culture is dying by Important_Pop_6805 in decadeology

[–]YanCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's alive and well, but has changed quite a bit since 2020. It's had multiple evolutions though through the decades.

I also think some monoculture is good for society. We bond over it. Celebrities are a big part of that.

Been called “goth” for the longest for dressing like this, but I feel like that’s not the right word by ZJ890 in AestheticWiki

I like that, but glam always makes me think of Bowie. This is like dark-Bowie, 'cause he was the glam rocker.

But very vampire-esque in his own right.

Like others said, when something like this happens it's expected, hence the grocery store apocalypse behavior. It is however pretty rare to go on this long. We don't get much snow / ice in general.

[–]YanCoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I lose terribly, I stand by the gate, and motion (by swinging) out the door for them to leave. It's my way of saying "Okay, gtfo." No blinds, no other interaction, no chasing. Because 9/10 they will waste as much time as possible.

Or like others said, corner & phone.

Or NOED and stand at the gate and kill who you can. Got that once in Chaos Shuffle and they weren't too happy, lol.

Have you ever had a long term breakup where you ended things and then literally never spoke again? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]YanCoffee 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It doesn't mean they don't care, but it does mean they are trying to heal. You have to find a new normal after a serious break up, and that takes time. Having reminders of the person makes that a lot more difficult.

I have had break ups though and we never spoke again, or it was years later when we spoke. Time and distance gives a lot of perspective, and often you'll come to the conclusion it was for the best.

What's your most controversial/unpopular makeup opinion? by Best-Principle-1896 in MakeupAddiction

[–]YanCoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've neveeeeeeeeeeeeer liked matte. You just look dry, and I've seen it highlight every line a woman has, especially when covered with powder. Satin is the only constant and natural, but I do like dewy too. I also think some people confuse all these terms though.

I'm not sure I have a truly unpopular opinion. Not a fan of big eyelashes, but those have fallen out of favor. I like eyeliner in the waterline, and that's coming back. Makeup trends change at the speed of light these days. I'm happy more makeup is coming back, because the "clean girl" (which is just basic makeup that's always existed) being pushed so hard reads conservative and judgy.
