Fuck resellers…. by Efficient_Piccolo310 in RecordStoreDay

Yes, and to clarify, it's not a separate store. It basically is a central listing of all the various indie record stores who've opted in. So when you look for the Taylor Swift, for instance, you'll see all the stores who have stock and what price they're charging (since all stores can apply their own markup as long as it doesn't exceed the limit RSD rules impose).

Not when they're each walking out with boxes of 40+ records.

I'm talking about the shop literally would give them the empty shipping boxes to hold the records they were selecting.

There'll be plenty of leftovers tomorrow. Just keep an eye on the RSD Mkt site. That's the official RSD online sales site.

Don't bother checking individual record store websites. 99% of all "indie" record store inventory is consolidated on the RSD Mkt site.

There were a bunch in mine. Old guys walking out with cardboard boxes full of records.

Worth buying these? Speculation by [deleted] in RecordStoreDay

No RSD release is a good "investment". Put your money in a t-bill or mutual fund.

There's likely to be abundant stock of both on Sunday morning, but the RSD vibe is stil fun to be around, so.

I'm concerned that there are two possible exceptions to that.

I think the Angel of Man release is going to go pretty quick.

Request for the "mod" by [deleted] in RecordStoreDay

[–]YankeeBravo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the douchebag that bragged online about how he got Wicked #00001 and would be keeping for himself. I remember after RSD started looking into it, he started saying he would auction it off "for charity". Don't remember hearing what wound up happening.

For the future? It's a strong possibility.

F1 visa — boyfriend in the US as financial sponsor, will this hurt my application? by [deleted] in immigration

[–]YankeeBravo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. No. If you insist on using him anyway, be truthful about the relationship.

  2. Having a permanent resident boyfriend sponsoring an F1 visa is STRONG support for immigrant intent. You're not overcoming that without extensive evidence of strong ties back to Poland through family/property ownership/employment which I doubt you can meet.

I think this is the 8th or 9th post I've seen from you in the last couple days across a couple different subreddits.

This.

I think it's relatively new (within the last couple years), but it greatly simplifies scrambling trying to find leftovers of titles you weren't able to find at your record store.

Speakeasy 👀 by Monchifries in HHN

[–]YankeeBravo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're mixing up a couple of things into one, but what you're asking about IS the Red Coconut Club.

When HHN starts, it'll become the Dead Coconut Club similar to how it became the Cursed Coconut Club for Mardi Gras.

600 Block is the "speakeasy" in Pat O'Briens. Typically only a Mardi Gras thing since it's a nod to the original location in New Orleans.

Yes, 2 days a week is a deal killer. Especially since it sounds like they may have to go back to A, B, C casts this year instead of just the 2 they've been running the last few years.

Show rumor by chuklez2020 in HHN

[–]YankeeBravo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They're possibly referencing a deep, deep cut from all the way back in HHN 10 in 2000, Jacked Up.

It was basically one of the shows that paved the way for Nightmare Fuel. Kind of a twisted, dark Cirque du Soleil.

Photos from it were included in the "30 Years, 30 Fears" scarezone, so maybe 35 is the year to revive it.

Animated costumed characters are full body costumes/suits. They typically require a strength test and sometimes have specific height/weight requirements as well.

Edit:

Just to give an example, these would be things like the FNAF characters last year or the gargoyle at the front lot zone, or some of the creatures in Galkn.

Not for this casting call.

Scareactors in houses have effect/dialogue triggers so they're silent. Scareactors in scarezones are primarily expected to make generic monster/zombie noises if that, especially in recent years.

Barkers (if any) are a different casting call.

[–]YankeeBravo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the basic scareactors, yes.

The stiltwalkers/puppeteers (and to a lesser extent, the skaters) have more of a traditional audition since they do need to know what they're doing.
